ZARA – Clothing Store in California

ZARA, the Spanish fast-fashion retailer, has revolutionized the fashion industry with its unique business model and rapid response to consumer desires. Founded in La Coruña in 1985 by Amancio Ortega, ZARA employs an innovative approach by sourcing fabrics from local suppliers and producing them in-house, allowing for nearly two-week turnaround times from design to store. This agility enables ZARA to offer a vast range of trendy, affordable apparel while maintaining fresh and current assortments.

Additionally, ZARA’s ‘fifty-fifty’ inventory system balances stock levels, discarding unsold items at low rates and minimizing overstock. A widespread distribution network of nearly 2,500 stores worldwide ensures that items are available in various sizes, promoting accessibility across diverse markets. The emphasis on design, speed, and affordability has significantly impacted the fashion sector, with a global customer base passionate for the brand’s minimalist, often uniform designs.

ZARA’s business model has sparked discussions on ethical practices and sustainability, resonating with growing consumer awareness and demand for responsible production. Despite criticism, the brand remains a prominent player in the fast-fashion industry, constantly adapting and innovating to meet evolving consumer demands and market conditions.

  1. I like this Zara. The staff and door man are all friendly. I’m always welcomed when I enter the store and sales associates are always attentive. Living in San Francisco, it’s best to get your items shipped to the store, due to a mass of packages being stolen by other people who find it amusing. I’m glad Zara has the option to ship into store. And no delivery fee!!! Win win for me.

Whenever I go to pick up my items, the sales team are always friendly and don’t act as if they are above people.

    I love Zara.

  2. Bad attitude, rude and bad service.

I came here on Wednesday evening 8/21 for returning my order and got bad experience with the lady curl hair, wear glasses who work at cashier.

I waited in return order line while she serviced with one customer. She took time so long about 10mins since nobody in purchase line and only me in return line. When she almost finished, there has 3 more customer coming in purchase line and she took care them first. I still waited with patience and expected that she would call me the next person.

Then while she almost finished with the 3rd person, there had 2 more and 1 more in purchase order line. She called them and serviced all of them, kept chatting and took time so long til nobody there only me, then she just called “next customer” and never made eye contact or said anything to me.

I waited around 20-25mins and was wondering then asked her if normally Zara give priority service to purchase order line first. She said “Yes and I work only one person”. I told her that I don’t think so cause I have been to many locations of Zara, even there has only one worker, they try to switch giving service to customer between purchase and return order line.

I asked her if she knows I waited so long about 20mins. She made her face overacting and said “really” “I did with my best and can’t tell who come first unless customer would let each other to go first and said like oh you can go first”

I said “but you can noticed that who come first and call your next customer” She acted bad attitude and said with her smile “oh sorry”.

After she finished my return order, she said “You all set with YOUR PRIORITY”. I can’t explained all that how rude she is.

  3. The young lady with black hair and a short fring was so rude. She called me to pay and then she left the cashier and went to the back side and when she cames back she started organizing the hangers instead of helping me and when I asked her to put my pant in bag she didn’t even organize it and when I asked she was like you’re in a hurry.
Bad customer service, unprofessional and impolite girl.

  4. Had a horrible shopping experience. My husband and I went into Zara yesterday sunday on lovely mothers day around 2pm. An employee kept following us around and even attempted to have small talk about the items we were trying on. She seemed to be following us around because every floor we went in she was there around us. It made us uncomfortable and as if she thought we were shoplifting. At the counter the cashier did not greet me either, I was the one to greet her first. During my checkout process she had me reach over for the receipt and the same employee that was following us around the store went up to her and asked how much my total was. This gave me the overall impression that she was following me around with the idea that my husband and I were doing something sketchy. Very unprofessional.
