âWinn-Dixieâ is a coming-of-age novel written by American author, Kate DiCamillo. The story is centered around ten-year-old Opal, who moves to a small Florida town after her mother leaves. Struggling with feelings of loss, loneliness, and abandonment, Opal stumbles upon a scruffy but endearing dog at the local Winn-Dixie supermarket named after the store itself. Finding comfort in their new life together, Opal forms unexpected friendships with the storeâs eccentric patrons. The character of Winn-Dixie grows to represent the animal kingdomâs diverse individuals, bringing people together despite their differences. The novel explores themes of friendship, loss, and belonging, as Opal learns the meaning of community and belonging. âWinn-Dixieâ is much more than a shepherdâs tale; itâs a story of accepting who you are while opening oneself to the world.

My teo year old grandsonâs birthday party was yesterday. My daughter ordered 3 themed balloons from Amazon that required helium. Having been a previous employee of Winn Dixie who left in good standing, she went to the balloon department and asked if she could pay them to blow up her three balloons. They said yes, $5 for each one. Thanks, but no thanks.
I am not going to lie. I will shop here before going to Walmart. Yep, I said it.

This Winn-Dixie is great! Location is great, being right by downtown Trussville, and the selection on food is great! The employees are kind and the layout of the store is good and they always have a good selection of watermelon which is crucial to a fun summer!
This is our go to place when we need a few things quickly here in Trussville because itâs just a few blocks from our house. And you donât have to wait in line long to get checked out. We buy the majority of our items from Walmart in Trussville, because it supposedly cheaper, but it is a pain to shop there. We buy the vast majority of our fruits and vegetables from Publix were I think the quality is the best.
I donât know how their fried chicken the prepared and cooked differently â but WINN-DIXIE HAS THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN TRUSSVILLE, BAR NONE1
For the most part, the service is great. The people are friendly. I was treated rudely by an employee. I was asking someone in deli about a product when she went to ask another person the person in bakery got angry that she was âinterrupting her conversation.â I refuse to shop from the bakery.
