  1. I recently moved in and let’s just say, I didn’t have the best first impression. I toured the unit I am currently living in with Wendy a few weeks ago. She was incredibly friendly and eager to help. Also, shout out to Rodney in the leasing office- Rodney is amazing too.

When I toured the unit, nothing seemed wrong and it was wonderful. About 2 weeks later when I moved in, I entered my unit with my movers and smelled an intense foul odor. I went into my kitchen to find what appeared to be sewage/still water spewed out of my sink onto every surface. Photos attached below. It was even crusted in some places, so who knows how long it has been there?
I immediately called maintenance and told them it was urgent, as I couldn’t move items into that area and it smelled horrendous. They said they were sending someone ASAP. 40 minutes went by without a word from them. I called again to check in and also because the sink started filling up with crap again. They said they were on their way. Another 40 minutes passed. Maintenance arrived and worked on it for about 1.5 hours while also cleaning it. There were still some parts of the counter that had crusted gunk on it.

My question/concern is: do they not double check units before someone moves into them? It’s extremely concerning.

Also, getting hold of the leasing office via phone can be a hassle frequently. I’ve been transferred lines, only to have them drop as soon as they answer.

  2. The biggest problem here is the parking situation. There is a family living at 340 Lake Merced Blvd who parks their non-functional motorcycles during the day, and when they return home in the evening, they move the motorcycles aside and park their own cars. We reported this issue to Westlake management, but no one seems to care. This family acts as if it’s their private property and even threatens other residents. In the morning, they park their motorcycles while taking out their cars, and in the evening, they park their cars where the motorcycles were. Westlake needs to find a solution to this problem. We reported it to security, and they told us they would report the motorcycles to the police and have them towed, but nothing has been resolved yet.

Additionally, the parking lot above Wingstop remains empty all night, yet parking there is prohibited. If you’re considering moving here, be prepared to pay at least $500 per week in towing and parking fees.

  3. Westlake is and has always been a beautiful place to rent and, as returning residents, Efrem was a pleasant host. He was professional and efficient. He made sure to show us units that fit our needs as well as one that pushed our boundaries! While we walked in with our minds set, we went with his suggestion and placed a holding deposit that same day! 100% recommend you to speak with Efrem.

  4. I live in the 320 lake merced area and there is an issue that bothers me. There are parking lots in front of my house and some cunning people leave motorcycles here and close them all day long for no reason, it is wrong behavior.
