After taking a look at reviews to see if I was alone in my experience with cashier Milton, I found that I was not. Today 7/23/24 I shopped in store and was not pleased with his attitude & character at all.
I was in line at self check out waiting (I had earplugs in & had just came from the gym next door) and I could see him saying something to me but I couldnât hear him clearly. I took one out saying âhuhâ then he looks over at another customer who I assume he knew laughing to her & repeating to her that I said âhuhâ which confused me. Because it was clear I didnât hear him, I donât think there was anything funny about that & definitely didnât require him ignoring me trying to see what he said just to laugh with someone else about it. I was caught off guard. He was looking to cause problems with me, as another customer stated in their review â he is disrespectful.
At that point I was rubbed the wrong way. He then said out loud but not directly to me that I could get the 10 gallons of Crystal Geyser for a dollar but it would be a digital coupon (which I already knew) and I responded that I could read because that is whatâs stated on the tag. And his response was that I could have thanked him instead⊠he went out of his way to speak to me while I had earplugs in.. was rude and expects me to thank him for that? And laughs with someone else about me in my face? I donât know who he thinks he is but I am not the one. You donât demand respect while being disrespectful. I certainly donât come off to people disrespectful but I have no problem checking someone whoâs asking for it.
He also decided to re-print my receipt after I purchased to check my transaction. I only purchased the 10gallons of water. I asked do you do this with everyone or just me? Itâs clear he was harassing me at that point. While there I saw him handing bags to people without following the same procedure that he did while targeting me. He stated that bags are not free, theyâre 10cents each per a government law. (I also knew this as well.) Keep in mind that I come to Vons a lot and MOST times Iâm charged MORE bags than I actually receive so if employees are going to be strict with this policy letâs make sure itâs being enforced both ways. Your 10cents add up so do mine. Other times Iâm not charged at all, it depends on the employee.
From my experience & seeing other reviews i can only assume that Milton is at work to be messy & confrontational more than he is to provide excellent customer service and this needs to be taken more seriously. It was just 4months ago that someone else gave a similar review about his disrespectful behavior & comments. I shop here frequently and have not had an experience like this.
I had the worst experience with the manager last night 7/19/24. She was rude, disrespectful and acted like she wanted to fist fight. She was upset because it was closing time and she wanted to go home. Her attitude was no way to treat a customer. Iâm going to avoid this store as much as I can. She does not need to be a manager. She needs to be fired. No one should feel unsafe because of a manager while shopping at a grocery store. She even tried to overcharge me by $15! I believe her name is tay. Most ghetto store ever!
Really nice Vons. This place is so convenient. The Starbucks is really slow. Thereâs always one person and a line when I go. The cashiers are always polite. Khallid bagged our items and he was such a gentleman. Thank you! We appreciate your services. We will be returning.
This store itself is nice. However, the restroom is disgusting and always smells so awful. It wreaks of old urine and you can tell they only âstraighten upâ vs actually cleaning & disinfecting!! Probably should invest in automatic air freshener dispensers!
Also, a lot of the staff have attitude issues and lack courtesy and politeness!!! Really need to get it together especially the majority of the women
Large clean store, lots of choices. It had a bakery section and I had a particular penchant for the cheesy jalepeno bagel. The store has a free toilet and all the staff I spoke to (tills) were friendly. One woman packed my shopping which was nice. I insisted I didnât need that but she was happy to. The store also contained other little branches of stores within.
The only reason for a 4 star were the trolleys. A good amount of them wonât come apart so you end up grabbing someone elses when theyâre done as theyâre bringing theirs back.
Location wise, walking distance from the bus station nearby so pretty handy.
