Here we have frozen foods left in the aisle’s unattended without any workers in sight putting the items away. The ice cream products were completely melted. I pressed on them to try to figure out how long these pallets have just been just sitting out unattended. I was in the store over half an hour and no one put any of the stuff away during that time! This explains why over the years I would get sick when I would eat frozen food items from Vons. Because I have seen this happen on many occasions with pallets just sitting out and now I am posting proof. Many of the items on the pallets contain seafood and other very perishable items on which the box clearly states to keep frozen. I don’t want to get sick anymore, so I will not purchase anything perishable from this store ever again. It was an hour before closing on my last visit to the store and with no workers in sight putting anything away makes me wonder if they don’t put it away until 5am when they reopen. The pallets contained hundreds of items that needed to be put in the freezers before thawing out. Over the years many items I bought had an unusual form which means they had been thawed out and refrozen. Very sad to see this at my local store.

Got a cake for my 2 year olds bday today. Did have a hiccup where there was nobody in the bakery and they kept paging from the deli. Ended up going to customer service who came and got our ordered cake for us. We just ordered an 8 inch cake and selected a bluey image. They went with blue border but upon pickup we noticed they added paw prints which I thought was a special cute touch to what I expected to just be a basic side. Very cute cake and a very happy 2yo.
I have been shopping at this store for over 3 years now and in general i find the things I need there on a regular basis except occasionally they are out of things such as eggs. I think most of the staff are helpful and considerate but there are a few people in the meat department and produce departments that seemed kinda rude lately towards me.
Perhaps because one of the butchers in the meat department is my neighbor whom I’ve said hi to before and got nothing but a blank look and no response. I know his sister and her husband who live on the same land as him and have always said hello to them and talked with them but not him. Not sure what his problem is but I would rather shop at Raley’s from now on.
I find most of the people that are checkers are kind and considerate.
I went from a 5-star rating down to 2 stars because Vons no longer allows animals in their store. I always took my Chihuahua in with me, and he rode in the seat of the shopping cart. He sat quietly the whole time, never made a sound or bothered anyone. I’d leave him in my car if I could, but I don’t have air conditioning and he would die by the time I finished shopping. There is nowhere I can take him to be watched, other than Coarsegold, which is ridiculous if all I need are a few things from Vons. So I’ve become a regular at Raley’s now. They understand. Vons doesn’t.
