  1. Just moved in and so far loving it! Kayleigh and Maria are really great, Kayleigh made sure I found the perfect place. It’s great for dogs, my pup is loving all the green space. There’s tons of courtyards and nice pools. So far the only thing that’s a bit challenging is finding parking later in the evenings, but I’ve never had to park too far away from my unit. The location is great too! Really happy with everything so far!

  2. I write this anonymously as I don’t want to have a worse experience here than I already do. I ALSO BELIEVE PROSPECTIVE RESIDENTS DESERVE TRANSPARENCY. I will lay out as much info as I can in this review, along with hints of my experiences. The workers definitely act and treat you differently the more you point out things that should be maintained. Everything felt great when moved in, although this place was mainly chosen for location and price. After living here I can confidently choose a different place for similar or slightly higher pricing, but the quality would for sure be worth it.
    PRICING:
Water, trash, and gas done through Conservice and internet is with Cox and SDGE is used for electric. They charge $55-$57 for valet trash, it’s based on how many units are taken and the entire units taken in a building split a cost for valet trash that isn’t mentioned. You also cannot opt out of the valet trash. This is picked up normally around 7-9p Monday-Friday. They only pick up trash bags. Nothing else such as boxes. Reserved parking is an additional and optional choice of $55. NOTE ON PARKING: If you buy a reserved parking and someone parks in your spot after office hours… You’re going to have to make the hike from the closest parking you can find as the tow truck company isn’t authorized to tow on the property unless instructed and called by somebody from the office, even the maintenance team isn’t authorized to request towing. They claim to tow if unauthorized, but I have never seen it. Water shutdowns are somewhat frequent as well.
    LAUNDRY:
Each building has a laundry facility. THEY ARE NEVER CLEAN, I can swear on my life on this. I have been here for more than 10 months and there have been two washers and a single dryer in my facility that has not worked AT ALL. There is a flooding beginning to form under the floor of the laundry room. There is mold in every single washer. I have opted to washing my clothes in my bath tub due to this. Occasionally they wash longer than the timer says and floods. The dryers need at least to runs in order to fully dry clothes, many residents opt to air dry on their balconies. This is definitely Veranda’s issue. I’ve seen maintenance and custodians do a lot on the property and clean so well when they are around, but they are not around very frequently. Laundry costs $1.50-$1.75 each wash or dry cycle, depending on settings.
    POOLS:
They are not consistently cleaned, they are randomly cleaned. Then this past summer they were covered with caution signs and yellow caution tape with no explanation. It was left like this for 3 months after July, by the time they were removed it was already fall. They also left a BUNCH of rubber ducks and floaties for a month and during the time of rain, which all got very dirty and muddy in the pool. It was in each and I believe an attempt to bring more socialization, but the sanitation was insanely neglected that only teenagers went to mess with them.
    MAINTENANCE:
They try to mention as much as they can of any possible inconveniences that are occurring for maintenance. For example, there was a need to replace the roofing on each building and was announced to be until May… It went on until around September… The inconvenience is that they block roads, free parking spaces, and they wrap and cover the cars with plastics. They do remove the plastics if needed, but if you have to go to work or are in a rush it takes about 10 minutes… So far putting maintenance tickets in are also very inconsiderate process as well. They mark them done even if they aren’t and stop reaching out about the issue. You also won’t know they are calling as they call from a blocked/unknown number and do not leave a call back number. This has happened for three of my requests, so if you miss their call, you’re out of luck.
    BUILDING:
Very obviously older than the photos. Doors are unevenly cut, so sound escapes easily. Along with weather seeping in too. The paint job in the apartments are disgusting. Bumps from water damage, hair stuck in the paint, splotches and splatters of it too.

  3. Never ever go back really upset with this apartment so much things at first me and my husband saw the room so nice and clean quiet than we moved in we just find out we got really old building not the one they show us I tried to ask for another room they said price is different also they have 30 days satisfied, how can we find new room in 30 days??? No choice we have to stay until lease end. First day room had spider webs still dirty after we stay 3-4 months mole started came out in bathroom, our clothes, backpacks, and luggage baggage. We let the management know on application please contact before come fixed, it never call. Washer machine always broke and a lot of dog hair. Since we move out just got deposit back for sure the room still good condition but they took almost $400 doesn’t explain what the details for the charges.

  4. Veranda La Mesa is an outstanding establishment. Provided me with excellent customer service and support. Friendly atmosphere and staff was very professional and supportive with answering all my questions. Thanks for the genuine support in providing me with a great experience. I would like to recognize Maria Gutierrez who ensured I was taking care of the moment I arrived for the walkthrough. Overall, very satisfied with the establishment and looking forward to renting. Thank You.
