  1. Been coming here for years and have loved it.
However, recently they ā€œrenovatedā€ their dry sauna. They cut the capacity in half and took the average temp from 180 F to 130F. (as measured on my personal digital thermometer)
There is now only one row of benches next to the floor.
This is pretty disappointing. I hope they at least add another row of benches to bring back the capacity and the exposure to the higher levels of heat.

  2. This Vasa lication is clean and well kept. The gym is slightly on the smaller side compared to the centennial and west valley locations, but it has all machines and equipment needed and in good repair.
The gym also has all the amenities that you would want (hot tub, steam room, sauna, & both types of massage chairs). The only things it is missing that some of the other locations have that Iā€™m aware of are pickle ball courts and the cinema room.

  3. This location is really nice and clean. I came to this location to specifically try out my first studio flow class. It was amazing. Mikilani is an amazing instructor! Love studio red and studio flow! I would also like to shout out the KidCare area. Its nice. Itā€™s spacious. The Ladies working KidCare were extremely nice.

  4. First and foremost, the menā€™s locker room bathroom has had the same dried-up puddle of urine on the floor since I started coming here a month agoā€¦

It starts in the disabled access stall and runs across the floor, through the other stalls, into a drain. It stings the nostrils to be in there, and I try very hard to plan my day so that I donā€™t have to poop here.

Second, they also clearly donā€™t clean the menā€™s locker room often at all. I see stains on the floor in there (spots from spilled flavored water, protein shake, etc) that remain for days and days. I canā€™t tell if they finally do clean it or if they just eventually fade away from the traffic of people in there. Thereā€™s also a thick layer of dust on top of the lockers, and just grime in, on, and around the lockers.

My expectation for a high-traffic bathroom like this is that it be cleaned fully (floors, toilets, walls, counters, etc) at least once per day. My expectation for a high-traffic locker room like this is that the floor be mopped at least once per day, and for the lockers themselves to be cleaned at least once per week.

All of these spaces should also be getting spot-checked 3-4 times per day. That urine stain should never have been allowed to remain for more than a couple of hours. Huge fail.

Beyond that, honestly, Iā€™ve been very pleased with this location. My routine is primarily to use a treadmill, elliptical, or stationary bike, then to grab a yoga mat and stretch my hips and back out for a while in the ā€˜turfā€™ area, and finally to do a few sets of lifting on benches and cable machines. In this routine, Iā€™ve never yet had the equipment I want to use be unavailable, even during the busiest times of day, and Iā€™ve never yet found a machine to be non-functional. This is a significantly better experience than Iā€™ve had at other Vasa locations where Iā€™ve constantly had to adjust my routine to fit the equipment and space thatā€™s not already broken or taken.

So, good job designing the space, please keep it up on the machine maintenance, and for godā€™s sake implement some sanitation routines.

  5. I love the zumba classes. These classes have really improved my health. Iā€™ve experienced an 80lb weight loss attending Kayā€™s and Heatherā€™s zumba classes. They are challenging and fun, really fun. Heather teaches Tuesdayā€™s, Fridays, and Saturday. Kay teaches Wednesday at 7:30. I owe these women instructors for keeping me motivated šŸ˜Š
