  1. During my recent visit to the hospital, I was surprised to find a security guard at the front desk instead of a friendly receptionist. This unexpected change set a rather unwelcoming tone for my visit. When I arrived, I was hoping to be greeted by someone who could provide me with clear directions and offer a warm, reassuring presence, which is especially important in a hospital setting.

    Unfortunately, the security guard was not equipped to handle inquiries with the same level of care and courtesy that a dedicated front desk staff member would. While I understand the importance of maintaining security, the initial interaction felt impersonal and a bit intimidating. It left me feeling uneasy, which is not what you want when you’re already in a vulnerable situation, seeking medical care.

    I would suggest that the hospital reconsiders this approach and ensures that there are courteous, trained staff members at the front desk who can provide both security and a welcoming environment. A kind smile and helpful attitude can make a significant difference in a patient’s experience. This small change could greatly improve the overall atmosphere and ensure that patients feel more comfortable and supported during their visit.

  2. I arrived with my daughter at 9:30, 5 people came after me and they let go to first. 3 of them looks an urgent treatment but 2 with no pain. My little daughter do not deserve this horrible service. I will report them to the Health Department. After 4 hours waiting I respectfully ask the nurse I am going to another hospital y they said YOU CAN LEAVE yelling me. This happen today Sept 1st, 2024.

  3. Walked in at 11:50 am to the E.R and had to wait a long time to get seen. Once inside, I noticed the condition and attention was not the greatest. I finally got room upstairs on the 5th floor at 1:30 that night. I had the best care from Vicky, and Rachel, they are the Nurse assistants. They are absolutely wonderful and attentive and friendly. Also the nurse Brandon was great, and also a people person. They definitely made my stay here the best. As for the other nurses and nurse assistants, not too good of experience, you could definitely feel the change in staff and attentiveness……

  4. Most unorganized, dirty, unprofessional staff I have ever seen, will hopefully never step foot into this hospital. No accountability of patient care from Doctors. Only one doctor who specializes in a procedure and he was booked for 5 days, and they expect the patient to be in their jail like hospital rooms waiting for a procedure. The air in the hospital is stuffy and doesn’t seem like it’s being filtered. The Medical board should investigate the conditions of this hospital and their operations.

  5. VALLEY PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL opened in 1958 with 63 beds. Today the complex has grown into a 350 beds medical center.

    The public areas are inviting and beautifully maintained.

    Security is tight. Just like at the airport, expect to spend 15 minutes or so. You are required to provide a reason for your visit, empty your pockets, have your purse inspected, and be magnetically scanned. You then visit a concierge desk, a few steps away, and provide identification. If there is a line there is a delay. A sticker is printed showing the location you are visiting, to be applied to your clothing.

    My wife and I visited a friend. Her single patient room is modern with a large, attached bathroom and shower. The room included: patient care items, a chart indicating the patient’s name, the on duty nursing staff, her hospitalist, TV, comfortable guest chairs, telephone, and a view of the San Fernando Valley.

    The staff who entered her room, while we were there, were efficient and showed courtesy.

    There is a well stocked gift shop and cafeteria. Free or flat rate (8.00) valet parking. Of course everything is wheelchair accessible.
