I absolutely do NOT recommend Tiger Transmission and Autocare in Opelika. Iām writing this review to hopefully save someone else from the terrible experience that I had.
I brought my vehicle to Tiger Transmission because of issues with my transmission shuddering/shaking during takeoff and driving uphill. After they diagnosed the issue, they called and informed us that it required a transmission rebuild. We gave them the go-ahead on the rebuild, and then added on a 3-year warranty ($4,600). When I picked up my āfixedā car, the issue was still there, along with a new additional issue.
I had to bring my vehicle back to them two more times, and the issues with my transmission were never fixed. Finally, I spoke with the manager, Josh (in person), and the owner, Elizabeth Bledsoe (over the phone), and asked for a refund. The owner became hostile and yelled at me over the phone. She said I would absolutely not receive a refund from them, and then hung up on me.
All this to say, I recommend taking your vehicle to any shop except Tiger Transmission and Autocare. They were not capable of fixing my vehicle, they would not refund the āserviceā they āprovided,ā they lacked communication skills, and the owner is the most unprofessional person Iāve ever had the displeasure of speaking on the phone with. My car is still shuddering/shaking, and now when I put it in park I get a warning that says it is not in park (which is a brand new issue). This has been stressful to say the least- please save yourself from a similar experience.
Terrible, terrible customer service- the owner actually yells at customers when they ask for a timeline or why their car is still not fixed after 3 months, or transmission is still broken multiple times after their expensive service. Wouldnāt provide any written documentation on their service work or āwarranteeā, leaving the customer reliant on legal action if their car is not actually fixed. Would not even entertain a refund. This place is shady and neglectful. Do NOT go here.
They had my car for 2 months and never even test drove it, the lied and told me they changed a part but they never did. I finally said screw it and went and got my car to find out my car was sooo dead from just sitting there (on the side of the road unlocked) that we had to charge my battery for 10 minutes just to get it to turn over. They wanted to charge me $900 just to pull the trans out and look at it. Thatās not doing ANYTHING. To fix it. Thatās just labor to pull it out. They never answered their phone they never called me when they said they would. Even went up there with my grandmother after them having it for 5 weeks , he said heād order the part I asked about then he said he put it in the car and it didnāt fix the problem. All lies . The car was never worked on
Had the governor cover blow off my 700R4 trans on the highway, called Tiger Transmission in Opelika and they found and delivered the part to us within 30 minutes of calling. Outstanding service, couldnāt ask for a better experience. This is a shop that cares and is genuine. Thank you guys!
Had a car towed here after Walmart drained transmission fluid when they were supposed to just change the oil. Everyone I talked to was helpful and answered all my questions. The shop is very busy, but they never acted like they didnāt have time to help. Thank you for taking care of us!
