  1. Wow – this location was absolutely stunning. We arrived around 3 pm and we were greeted by valet, who were extremely accommodating as we had a lot of stuff to unload, so they kept our vehicle available until we were done.
The customer service staff were also amazing – very friendly and professional.
The check in was smooth and our room, located on the third floor was just beautiful. The bathroom was large and the bed was very comfortable (I instantly jumped on the bed when we arrived, so the photo shows the top cover a bit messy, I assure you it wasn’t like that when we arrived).
We had a river view suite and it was so worth it.

We also checked out the restaurant, Scott’s Seafood for their happy hour. Unfortunately I didn’t get any photos since I was distracted as we were meeting up with friends.

The entire property was clean and there was a walking trail as well, located along the river.

Will definitely stay here again if we are back in Sacramento!

  2. NOT WORTH HIDDEN FEES!
I have been staying at this hotel for the last 15 years, and it used to be the only nice option in Sacramento. They’ve recently done an amazing renovation on the rooms, which is a major plus. If you’re lucky enough to get a room facing the river, the view is great; otherwise, you’re stuck looking at the parking lot.

However, despite the upgraded rooms, they didn’t upgrade the HVAC system. It turned on every 15 minutes, and it was so loud that it woke me up each time. To make matters worse, the hotel was nearly empty during our stay, yet I was still placed on the ground floor right next to another guest who had their TV on blast all night.

While I was aware of the $333 room charge and was okay with it given my long history with the hotel, the additional mandatory $45 valet fee, hidden fees, and taxes pushed the total to well over $400 for one night—on an empty night, no less! This is Sacramento, and it is NOT WORTH that kind of money. You can stay downtown, closer to everything, in a super nice hotel for half the cost.

It’s sad to say, but I won’t be coming back with these rates and fees. What was once a reliable choice in Sacramento has now priced itself out of the market for me.

  3. Amazingly kept property, super clean, neat with great decor. Everyone is very nice and helpful all the time. I didn’t walk around the property but there are some good places near by.
The room is spacious and looks modern with nice furniture and best part is its very quite.
Breakfast at Scott’s Seafood restaurant was great and in the evening it was very much packed. Bartender was great and very friendly. They worked very efficient and were always good to all the guests.
Parking – Only option is Valet

  4. Great staff and amazing service. Beds are very comfortable as well as pillows. There are true kings size beds in the two kings bed rooms. Some hotels say it and it’s really queen’s. Body wash, shampoo and conditioner by bath tub and in the shower. Great claw foot bath tub my daughter enjoyed. The pool is a smaller intimate great outdoor pool with pool side service if wanted. There is also great room service if you are not up to going down to the restaurant which my kids and I took advantage of after a long drive.

  5. Intro: this is mid range marriot. Not one of the best.

    Pros:
    -location is semi great
    -the room is very nice
-the bed was definitely one of the most comfortable
    -the food is really good.

    Cons:
-the staff, the staff, and the staff. They make you feel uncomfortable at times and the valet guys have weird energy. Either they are nice or not and it’s very clear. Also, some of the cleaning staff can have weird energy especially when you say hello to them. It’s like they don’t want to say hello back.

Overall: it’s okay. The rooms are great but the staff 😑.
