The resort itself is nice, with great pools. My issue is that my car got damaged in their parking lot, and when we asked the staff for video surveillance to see what happened/how it got damaged, they couldn’t provide any assistance at all. It seems ridiculous that you have to pay $40 for parking per day, but they can’t offer any kind of security/support/assistance for your car if and when it gets damaged on their property. For this reason alone, I don’t recommend staying here because it’s not safe, and it’s even more upsetting that they refuse to do anything about it. Stay somewhere else and keep your family and belongings safe.
First time to this location and just like any Westin, amazing resort/hotel. Beautiful grounds, lots of parking, great location. Beautiful pool, beautiful rooms. We were here for a wedding and will most likely return to enjoy this hotel. Friendly staff no matter who we encountered, pricey, but expected with this name, drinks by the 24hr pool were perfect. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is that it was a maze going to our room/tower up one elevator down another and then back up again. Very confusing and time consuming. Would stay here again and highly recommend.
I recently stayed at Westin Carlsbad and had one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that this place was far below acceptable standards.
Firstly, the room was in an appalling condition. The furniture was broken and appeared to be decades old. The door to my room was also damaged and barely closed properly, leaving me feeling unsafe throughout my stay. This is simply unacceptable for any accommodation, let alone a hotel that I booked through Amex.
To make matters worse, the towels and robes provided were clearly unwashed. They had stains and a musty odor that made me question the overall cleanliness of the hotel. It’s incredibly disappointing and unhygienic to offer such items to guests.
The service was equally abysmal. The staff seemed indifferent and uninterested in addressing any of the issues I raised. I had to call multiple times just to get someone to acknowledge my concerns. When I ordered room service, they warned me it will take an astonishing four hours to arrive.
Overall, my stay at Westin Carlsbad was a nightmare from start to finish. The broken furniture, unclean linens, poor service, and ridiculously slow room service made it a stay to forget. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. There are plenty of other options that offer better quality and service for your money. Avoid this place at all costs!
visited I stayed at the Westin with my nephew to celebrate his seventh birthday as we were going to Legoland. The staff was absolutely amazing. I like that the Westin is connected to the Sheraton that had we use the pool at the Sheraton. It was very kid friendly. My nephew really liked the waterslide, michelle even surprised us after we came in from the pool with some milk and cookies for my nephew’s birthday. We got some free gelato. The staff was very great. I like the activities they did. We enjoyed the s’mores s’mores earlier in the day, we got lucky. loved the private entrance walk, we could see legoland from the hotel, all in all great experience
Stayed here for our yearly golf tournament. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The room was perfect (used points to get an upgrade to a suite) … Parking is not cheap at $43.00 per day for valet… but worth it.
