  1. I had such high hopes for this dining experience. The setting was drop-dead gorgeous, waterfront location. That is the ONLY 5ā aspect about this experience however. While the food canā€™t be described as ā€œbadā€ but more of a ā€œpreferenceā€ difference between other previous reviewers and myself, it still was not worth nearly $100 for one person, based on the quality and taste. The bacon wrapped scallops although not ā€œbadā€ per se, werenā€™t what I was expecting. Mojito was TOO sweet and not enough crushed mintā€”tasted like concentrated lime SYRUP, when a mojito is all about the power of subtlety shining through fine ingredients. The crab cake was a major FAIL. They have 2 options for their crab cakes: ā€œoriginalā€ or ā€œangryā€. Inquiring about the difference, I was told the ā€œangryā€ added Old Bay and black pepper. As a native Marylander, of course I ordered the ā€œangryā€, which was a HUGE mistake. Once again subtlety eluded the proprietors here, b/c both Old Bay AND Black pepper COMPLETELY OVERPOWERED the entire dish, masking the most important ingredientā€”the crab meat! This abomination costs almost $40ā€”and thatā€™s for ONE (and small) crab cake, friends!
Trying to ā€œmake it workā€, I took like 4 or 5 sips of the mojito before I just couldnā€™t anymore, sent it back for a Blue Lagoon that came in bucket. Watered down garbage @ $20.00 a pop.
They have the audacity to charge a 3% credit card ā€œprocessing feeā€ (receipt shown below)!! The nickel & diming of this institution is shameless and their food nor their lackluster service is worthy of the price tag, shown below in receipt (In all fairness they did not charge me for the mojito I sent back).
I am not a ā€œcheapskateā€. Look @ my previous reviewsā€”but you have to EARN it. Great location w/ views worth a million bucks, but in the future Iā€™ll visit the COUNTLESS other options when Iā€™m on historic downtown Solomons Islandā€™s waterfront that feature views just as spectacular.

  2. We were visiting from Cheyenne Wyoming. I wanted some seafood. I looked up online and found this restaurant. The lighthouse, their crab cakes were highly rated, so we went and had some my goodness they were the best crab cakes Iā€™ve ever had. The waitress
was so friendly and knowledgeable. And the view was breathtaking to the marina watching the boats go by, I highly recommend this restaurant if you like seafood. Also, must have the boom boom shrimp for an appetizer that was awesome also Also, must have the boom boom shrimp for an appetizer that was awesome also.

  3. This was my first time eating at The Lighthouse Restaurant and Dockbar and it exceeded my expectations! I havenā€™t had a chance to read the other reviews but feel as though the rating should be much higher. The crab cake is the best Iā€™ve had and consisted of almost all crab. I can understand why they were rated number 1 crab cake per the waitress. The sides included were also delicious. My husband and I chose the cucumber salad and cheddar cheese grits. We also got the hush puppies and crab dip as appetizers. If you havenā€™t been, I would highly recommend visiting. We went on a rainy day so we couldnā€™t eat outside but the location on the water is also very scenic.

  4. We had the stuff Hoddock, I had coleslaw and a side salad, wife had a bake potato and a side salad. Food was nothing special which makes me say it was way over priced. I donā€™t mind paying but price vs/ quality is my goal. Nice place but itā€™s not worth the cost. >$120

  5. This restaurant has always been a family favorite. We think they have the best crab imperial in the state of Maryland. It is simply scrumptious! The entire dish was filled with a generous amount of lump crab meat. The sauce is rich and flavorful. Canā€™t wait to come back!
