1. I lived here for about two years. Throughout my time here, I had no complaints. The current property manager, Kayla, is very welcoming and attentive. She does go out of her way to get to know her tenants not only by unit number, but their name. There was only one incident that occurred during my time here, but Kayla was very helpful during that time. The maintenance guy, Jeff, is super friendly. Since Manco took over, management has really improved.
   The Californian is very clean and the units are so spacious. Definitely going to miss management and the amenities.
   I would totally recommend this place if you are looking for a safe, clean, kid-friendly, dog-friendly, and local place!

2. I just moved here three months ago. Kayla is the property manager. In three months three times someone entered in my garage and take my stuff. Past two times i never posted anything. But this time they entered and steal expensive stuff from my garage and break my New Car. They opened my car i don’t know how. And took stuff from my car. When i am here to tell the leasing office from last one hour i am waiting but nobody is here to listen. It’s working hour. I am waiting here since 4 o clock. Now its 5 o clock
   Worst experience with this apartments and the management. I will Never suggest anyone for this apartments.
   When the property manager came when i tell her to listen my concern. Instead of listening me she shown me attitude and told me she doesn’t care whatever happened she said i don’t care. Her boss called me she even doesn’t listen to me. She took her side that they are not responsible for it. I can give minus 5 stars (-5) to this property management.

3. I recently moved to Fresno from Texas, so was searching for an apartment long distance. The Californian checked a lot of boxes, it’s in a great part of northwest Fresno, its only a couple years old in great condition, gated, has a garage (optional), is quiet, safe, clean property. I was very pleased with my apartment, spacious bedrooms and walk-in closets, new appliances, interior looks and feels new, not beat up, screens in the windows, mini blinds, a new washer and dryer, roomy kitchen lots of big new cabinets, new stove and fridge. All the way around I was very satisfied with The Californian. Im picky, don’t like worn out, weird smells and the like, and my apartment had none at all.

   Kayla is the property manager, and she is great to work with ! She always has been available to help when I need it, very responsive and supportive. Running an apartment complex is hard and she’s always kind and friendly. I can’t recommend The Californian more highly, and its based on my experience living here. This is not a fake review either, I’m real, and have been a renter at The Californian, I love the place

4. Property goes through managers every few months. The grounds is always messy with trash everywhere. Tenants that don’t care around you, and leave trash outside their units. Upon move out we did a pre-Inspection, then an inspection after cleaned and fully moved out. Both times stated they were only deducting for light dusting and carpet cleaning (which they said they do for every unit). Also was told several times that our unit was move in ready and like a model home unit. We also had a contract agreement stating our last months rent amount which was a portioned amount. To sum up, we were charged for painting, carpet in both bedrooms, extra rent (that was not in the end of lease contract), and their fees.

5. Sure the apartments are nice and spacious. But as someone who’s been here for a year now, we’ve gone through 3 apartment manager changes, garage break-ins, neighbors freely smoking in close proximity to family areas, a ridiculous rent increase, somebody crashed their challenger into a resident’s 2 car garage damaging their vehicle, security won’t answer their phones at night, overfilled trash and recycling dumpsters (only comes once a week) and right now there are oil stains on the cement that lead to a residents home. It wasn’t like this a year ago. The office number used to be posted on the front door. It has been removed and management is never in the office. Very frustrating. Sad to see this place decline. Only move here if you want high ceilings
