I gave birth to my 9lb son here in 2018. After my 1st son being born in a hospital, I was absolutely pursuing a better experience and the birth center did NOT disappoint. I cannot fully express how grateful I am to have Ruth’s expertise and knowledge. She is a true master of her skill. My son born here is now 5 and I came back to write this review because I have heard of other birth experiences where things went less than favorably and it makes me appreciate Ruth and her team that much more. If you are looking to have a safe, empowering, beautiful birth experience I insist you look no further.
I had the most wonderful birth experience with Ruth. My first son was born in a hospital and my second was born here 11 years ago. I look back on the experience with so much joy. My son came quickly and Ruth was the most wonderful and skilled midwife. Thank you!
I delivered my baby here 8 months ago now and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’m not American and have never lived here before this year, so I found it very daunting to navigate care providers in the US and have good professional and personalized care that was affordable! The birth center stood out to me and I knew right away that this is where I want to have my baby. During the tour, Ruth struck me as a very knowledgeable and experienced person who actually takes time to listen to her patients; and that was my experience with her throughout my pregnancy. She was really my only advocate when the ultrasound center was panicking for nothing and she was very reassuring every step of the way. At the end of the pregnancy my baby was in all kinds of positions except the good one so Ruth referred me to a very skilled obgyn. But since the baby turned on her own last minute I got to give birth at the birth center and it was such a redemptive experience after my first time. The delivery environment was so comfortable and warm and Ruth gathered a team to help out even in the middle of the night. She guided me through labor, was very confident and encouraging and I knew I could trust her with my life. She also caught my baby’s tongue and lip tie right away and she was able to clip it the next day since she has the certification for it. She was very helpful with nursing tips, especially that I have PCOS and had trouble breastfeeding my first child. I am currently exclusively nursing my second one! I’m very grateful for Ruth and I would not hesitate to recommend her for whoever needs a good birth experience.

My experience with The Birth Center, and with Ruth as my midwife, was the best birth experience I’ve had thus far. As this is my fifth child, I’ve had other great birth experiences in the Sacramento area- but nothing compares to the personal, caring touch I received from Ruth and her excellent staff. My husband and I felt safe with the care team, and were completely confident that all contingencies were accounted for during labor. I enjoyed my prenatal appointments as all my questions were answered, and always had encouraging conversations with Ruth. Her medical experience is sound, and her care is genuine.
