My recent interactions since the building was taken over several months ago with the apartment manager Mylena left me deeply disappointed and frustrated on many occasions. From the moment I first engaged with her, it was abundantly clear that their approach to tenant relations lacked the professionalism and courtesy one would expect.
What struck me immediately was their consistently dismissive and rude demeanor. Every interaction felt like an uphill battle, with the manager exuding an air of indifference and superiority. It seemed as though she viewed tenants as nothing more than inconveniences, rather than valued residents deserving of respect. From the moment I stepped into their office seeking assistance, it was evident that their attitude was far from accommodating.
Communication with the manager was particularly challenging. Any questions or concerns I raised were met with curt responses, as if my inquiries were an annoyance rather than valid issues deserving of attention. Their condescending tone made it abundantly clear that they had little interest in genuinely assisting or engaging with tenants.
Compounding the problem was the manager’s apparent incompetence in addressing even the most basic of tenant needs. Maintenance requests languished unresolved for extended periods, and simple inquiries about lease terms or policies were met with confusion.. It became increasingly evident that the manager lacked the necessary skills and competence to effectively manage the complex and its residents.
Moreover, the manager’s behavior reflected a lack of understanding of the fundamental principles of customer service. Their dismissive attitude and refusal to engage with tenants in a respectful and professional manner not only tarnished the reputation of the apartment complex but also created an environment of frustration and dissatisfaction among residents. As you will notice they give the same response to all negative reviews given without any change or action taken. Assid from the rude management the building has gone drastically down hill from homeless to building security and cleaning up keep. Posted below are photos of dog feces in the hallways and elevators. Homeless in and around the building. As well as good luck getting up to your apartment from basement parking as the key fob readers are down for weeks at time leaving you to walk up multiple flights of stairs to access your apartment.
In sum, my experience with the apartment manager was nothing short of disappointing. Their rude and condescending behavior, coupled with their lack of professionalism and competence, make them wholly unsuitable for their role. I would caution anyone considering renting from this establishment to weigh their options carefully, as dealing with such an individual is not worth the hassle. The only thing I would like to note is that Christian in the office is the only one in the whole building that is polite and helpful.
This apartment was recently taken over by new management and in the last 4 weeks as others have also mentioned has gone completely downhill! The new leasing office staff is very warm and friendly however, the building is absolutely FILTHY. Elevators are disgusting, trash cans and trash rooms are overflowing with garbage and flies as it appears they are rarely emptied lately. All of the staff was let go during the management changeover including the cleaning staff who were incredible and deep cleaned daily, keeping everything spotless, even washing down the sidewalks around the building. I moved in to this building about 6 months ago because it seemed to be one of the best downtown but that certainly is not the case anymore. There was already limited security which now is no where to be seen at all, and with the increasing homeless and unhoused mentally ill population in the area due to the proximity of the new safe sleeping area the city has set up nearby, security especially late night/early hours is needed in the lobby now more than ever. I no longer feel safe taking my dog out at night. This is becoming a health and safety issue.
Also as others have mentioned we have still not been giving any information on how to pay rent or put in a maintenance request since they did away with the resident portal. I am very disappointed as this building was one I had previously anticipated I would stay beyond my lease but I am now counting down the days until I can get out of here. This is unacceptable. How many residents need to complain/write reviews before these bare minimum standards are met? These living conditions are not what us current residents signed up for, and I’d be shocked if the current conditions are attracting any new residents.
San Diego is a city where magic happens. In this case, getting the opportunity to tour luxury apartment in one of California’s finest cities was an absolute honor and privilege. Little did I know that I would soon be a resident in this ultra lux well managed property.
You can find place in an amazing location between Broadway and E street adjacent to San Diego City College in the neighborhood of Downtown San Diego, Broadstone Makers Quarter stands out proudly above the rest. My best friend and I met with Manny, a leasing agent at the property. We looked at a two bedroom that was spectacular. The lobby itself looked more like a luxury hotel than an actual apartment.
I have to say that this place sells itself. It is absolutely phenomenal and the amenities are hands down some of the best I’ve ever seen in my life. This includes a full-on clubhouse, conference rooms, fitness center with state-of-the-art gym equipment. The views and the pool will absolutely take your breath away!
Management and the staff was nothing but polite and understanding. It seemed they don’t hesitate to make everyone’s experience amazing.
Hands down 10 stars out of 5!!!
Thank you and keep up the good work!!!
To get into the building you can only use an app from your phone. So if your phone dies, as phones tend to do, you cannot get into the building. Or if you accidentally leave your phone in your apartment, you cannot get into the building. Phone gets lost or stolen? Don’t have a smartphone? Can’t get into the building. Not ideal for someone who lives alone, someone having a bad day or someone who doesn’t have a smartphone. Not seeing the benefit of living here if I can’t get into my home.
Broadstone Makers Quarter is amazing! The design and layout of the property is beautiful with great attention to detail and I really like the floor plans. There’s a great vibe and energy here! The amenities and pool area are fantastic and there are unique events going on often! The management team and leasing office are GREAT, super friendly and always quick to help!!
