1. I went to a local preparer for the filing of my husband’s taxes. She was fast and communicative and texted us for any information related to filling. She found that for the best refund it would be better if we filed married and jointly, even though we usually file separately and was our original plan. My husband sent her information including his social, address, and drivers license.

   We were very busy at the time preparing for the birth of our child and let her handle everything else. We were told we would receive our refund within 3 weeks. 3 weeks later we check our filing status and our return had not been received and processed with the IRS.

   In her words the software autofilled an incorrect address that was on my husband’s license and not the address he told her was our current address. Because of the inconsistency the IRS had our return under review, and we had to verify identity through official correspondence that was sent to the wrong address that was auto filled. An address we had no access to.

   We had to call the IRS to secure appointments to verify our identities, but appointments were not open until 2 1/2 months later. Our return had not been received until August.

   We got a notice from her team that we would be charged $400 from our account even though the IRS had not received and processed our return yet alone our refund. She told us we wouldn’t have to worry because we hadn’t received the refund yet. This was false. Her team still removed the fee from our account even though our return had just been received as of August, and our refund not even processed.

   We are not pleased. It would have been better to even owe the IRS than to have gone through this long and drawn out process and having to jump through many hoops. We will not be using this service ever again. You would be better off filing using a free tax software.

2. First time with Taxx Wiz! I usually do my own taxes on Turbo Tax but being a graduate student I wanted to see if I could maximize my return considering I pay for tuition.

   Their website is simple to utilize and walks you through every step. Health insurance, tuition forms, gains/losses from crypto or stocks is all asked for in easy steps.

   Mayo walked me through the entire process and was very patient throughout. Really great experience overall, I highly recommend! Will be using again going forward. 💰

3. Taxxwiz it’s the worst service ever.. I have been waiting for over 25 weeks for my return due to an error made by an incompetent preparer back on February 17th! I also found out that they didn’t even put my bank information therefore I am forced to wait another 2-4 weeks to get a paper check! And to make matters worse they already charged me their fee.. I tried to contact them via the portal to see if it was possible to wait until I had received the funds and like always NO RESPONSE… When I brought up this issue about 4 months ago, they contacted me and offered me $100 via cash app for the “inconvenience” and to update my review, which I didn’t.. I was very clear with them that I would when the I had received my return.. I hope you don’t believe everything they say on the reviews because just like they did to me, they might be just offering “incentives” for people to update their reviews to 5 stars..

   I supported them last year and it was great but in 2023 they have dropped the ball to many times for me to even consider using them again or referring anyone to use their services!

5. Taxx Wiz is very quick and efficient. As soon as you go through the questionnaire and give them your documents your tax return is ready within a few days. I file for personal and 2 different businesses. 2nd year with them and I am impressed!
