1. Surin West was one of the first meals we had in Birmingham. Returned to try their lunch menu, which is very well-priced! We were greeted with friendly service and excellent lunch options. We only had to wait around 15-20 minutes for our food during peak lunch hours on a Friday. If you’re a UAB student or employee don’t forget to bring your badge for a 10% discount 🤭

   Tofu Coconut Soup: 10/10
   Complimentary with a lunch order and great to sip on while you wait!

   Chicken Masaman w/ Avocado: 10/10
   Very rich and flavorful.

   Chicken Noodle Bowl: 10/10
   This tasted very similar to the Masaman Curry, just a touch sweeter. It was flavorful and very filling!

   Parking: It may be a bit difficult to find, but there is a large lot dedicated to Surin West customers around the corner from the restaurant. There is also street parking directly in front of the building, but this will typically be full during peak times.

2. Good place, even if we did go with 30 minutes left before dinner service. But they were very accommodating, I’m the fact that they still seated us and were very professional. The food is really good as well The appetizers of dim sum, and the surin baskets ( incredible flavor, definitely should try these) were outstanding. The pad Thai in my opinion could have used more savory It tasted a little sweet even if it was the spiciest level you could which is three. The spicy beef noodles though with shrimp were mighty tasty. Overall really good experience would give them a try again.

3. Everything that I had for dinner from the coconut soup to the spicy hamachi roll to the Masaman Chicken was delicious! My server was very knowledgeable and helpful, also! I would definitely return

4. Had a party of 5, 3 of the 5 had never had Thai food. I ordered the dim sum (very good), pot stickers (very good), spicy beef salad(not so good, I’ve had better). 2 orders of Pineapple fried rice (I have it before but would not recommended getting here, very salty), chicken fried rice , shrimp fried rice (both of the rice dishes were dry), and the spicy basil chicken (this is my go to dish, I wasn’t impressed at all, not enough basil in the dish). I’ve been to many Thai restaurants before, I would not recommend this place.

5. I’ve been coming to Surin West for over a decade now and it has never failed to be superb food! The food always comes out in a timely manner and I kid you not, no matter what you order off of that menu it will be unique and delicious in its own way! I highly recommend the Chicken Noodle Bowl, only available at lunch, it is noodles with grilled chicken in a lemongrass curry sauce and it is beyond good. Trust. Surin West in five points is one of Birminghams restaurant gems and anyone that hasn’t tried it yet is truly missing out!
   Pro Tip: Go dine in at lunch and get the coconut soup (aka liquid GOLD) with your meal.
