Surprisingly a LOT of things inside a small space!!! Expect to be pleasantly surprised. If you have something you aren’t sure you’d find in Birmingham you’d find it here. A BIG WIDE variety of asian groceries, kitchen items, cuts of meat & vegetables. At this point they are not just a grocery store 😂 They also have gator fillet in the frozen section!!! What can I say!! GATOR CHOMP!!!! Also a very obvious thing to say about Asian grocery store ik but a whole new world of plant protein for you non-asian vegans and vegetarians. We’re just v cool 😎✌️
June 2 2023 update… I love everything here but can u guys please keep things labeled “keep frozen” inside freezers not in open fridges? A few months ago I bought a bag of youtiaos that was on one of these open fridges, just to come home to unpack it and find out they had black mold in nooks and crannies. Me and my gf made another trip to super oriental on June 2nd and picked up a package of dumplings that was in these open fridges, again, just to find out that they were supposed to be frozen. I love yall but this is just SO UNSAFE!!!!! 😭
What a great Asian grocery! They have absolutely everything you need to make all types of Asian cuisine. They also have Oriental dishes and utensils, party items, produce, woks and pots, and a wide variety of frozen foods. This is my new favorite place to shop!
First time to visit the Asian grocery market in Bermingham!! We are excited to find they provide more diverse options compared to Asian markets in Memphis, Tennessee. Many snacks are really produced in China without English captions. We bought two shallot pancakes 葱油酥，and one bottle of 星球杯 star cup which is a combination of chocolates and small cookies. This is our childhood snack!! We also found that they offered the pork intestines and roasted duck!! The red pearl restaurant is located next to the super oriental market! This is a super smart option for the Asian markets and Asian restaurants to be affiliated. We haven’t tried any cuisine in the red pearl this time. Hope we may pass by this again in the future!
The Red Pearl Restaurant is probably the very best Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten. We drive 1 1/2 hours just to eat this place. The hot and sour soup is top notch.
The building is a bit small but it has most of the Asia’s greatest hits. Including some great snacks and a decent selection of drinks/ sodas.
