1. Sari Palace is by far the most well stocked desi formal wear stores in the Bay Area. The minute I walked in, everyone was so friendly and helpful! We found multiple unique pieces that were not just beautiful, but high quality. Their in-store tailor is kind and non-judgmental about size which is important to me. She was able to tailor all of our pieces the same day and everything fits like a charm!

   We also bought costume jewelry that suits the pieces we purchased. They packaged all the items with such care and I am so happy with it all!

   As a curvy desi woman, it is so challenging to find ready to wear pieces for formal events. I am beyond grateful to have found this store to help me look and feel my best. I highly recommend this shop if you want the same. ☺️

2. It was recommended to us by a friend who had bought her wedding outfits from SP. With her name, we got very good service and help with my daughter’s wedding outfit selections. The owners were really pleasant, and so was the staff.
   My only and very serious complaint is that they should have been honest to us that no matter how much alterations would be done, a blouse that had a neck cutting for a size 38-40, cannot be made to fit perfectly well on a skinny size 30-32 bride. Their own alteration lady was extremely cooperative, and did try her level best. But she was limited to what she could do with the way the original cutting of the blouse was. So, after picking up the few times altered blouse of a wedding outfit ( not cheap, close to $ 1,000), we were scrambling to get it altered once again, so that she could at least wear it for her wedding. The weekend before the wedding we had to spend another $50, to make it work, barely.
   In hindsight, the staff/owners, being such nice people, should have honestly given us the right advice that the huge blouse cannot be made smaller, period. It would have saved us so much time, agony and stress. We’d have gladly selected some other outfit. I wouldn’t even complain if the alterations had worked, but the very thick embroidered material was so unweildy, that it wouldn’t sit touched to the skin, and stayed a cm above the skin surface, and yes not even with body tape. I later discovered that a new store Manyavar had the same outfit, but unstitched for atleast $200 less. I think that’s much better as one could be saved from so much agony of alterations.
   This was our first time shopping for wedding outfits, but as business owners, they know, I suppose, that not all blouses can be altered. Even the bottom lengha/chaniyo was awkward to walk in after the removal of one layer of cancan. Are we supposed to know the nuances, pros and cons of such alterations?

3. I had such a lovely experience with finding an outfit to officiate my dear friend’s wedding at Sari Palace. They had a great selection, and provided alterations to get the perfect fit. Their staff was kind, accommodating, and prompt. The alterations were done faster than expected and the price was very reasonable.

4. I had a really great experience shopping for a kurta for my partner and a jewelry set for myself. The staff really paid attention to what we were looking for and were really sweet to work with! They have a lot of selections so I recommend anyone looking for Indian outfits and jewelry to come here!

5. Incredible selection and beautiful clothes. Came to buy a sari blouse and found the perfect one, but it was a little big. They altered it right away and left with the perfect fit! Can’t wait to wear it with my sari.
