Yvonne at SDBFC is the sole reason I am still breastfeeding my 4 month old. Yvonne was the 3rd IBCLC I had seen in the 2 months of my baby’s life and I had pretty much lost hope in breastfeeding after 2 months of severe pain and mastitis twice. I had never felt so heard and understood as when I had my appointments with Yvonne. She was so encouraging, positive, and really really listened to my concerns and struggles. She was so sweet that I didn’t even mind making an appointment on my birthday. She went above and beyond, answering my millions of questions, and truly just being everything I needed at the time and more. 5 stars for SDBFC and 5 million stars for Yvonne!
I am so grateful for the support I received from the San Diego Breastfeeding Center. I worked with Lana immediately postpartum, who caught lip and tongue ties in my baby that were overlooked at the hospital. Her guidance, knowledge and kindness allowed me to meet my goal of breastfeeding when I was at the point of giving up due to severe pain. Months later I met with Vicky, who helped me to navigate some challenges that had come up at the 10-month mark, and she proactively helped me plan for the eventual process of weaning from daytime pumping at work. The compassion and knowledge of the consultants at the center are second to none, and I have so much respect and gratitude for the work they are doing.
I went to the Center for a prenatal lactation consultation not really knowing what to expect out of the meeting. My husband and I met with Erin, and she was extremely friendly and gave us so much important information such as preparing for the production of breast milk, typical practices for the first few days of life, positions for feeding, how to know the baby is eating enough. Her follow up communication was super timely and I have all the notes from our session to refer back to.
I am planning to go back for a postpartum session. Of course I hope I don’t need TOO much assistance with this once baby is here, but I am confident we’d be in good hands with SDBC. The space is very cozy, and many bonus points for the designated parking – so helpful for waddling pregnant ladies, and new tired parents!
I’m so grateful to have found San Diego breastfeeding center and had my journey with Vicky she’s amazing !! I wanted to give up breast feeding everyday because of the hardships and without feeling pressure and following vicky’s tips and advised I’m breastfeeding my baby and having a beautiful experience for life
Non solicited review because I can’t thank them enough for all the dedication, attention and kindness. Vicky and Robin are true angels. They’re compassionate and very knowledgeable. They do everything they can do help you with your goals and support you and baby’s journey. I saw Vicky a couple times because of shallow painful latch. She helped me in so many ways! In addition to the latch, heavy supply and babys ties, there is some signs of possible gut distress and reflux going on with my baby and Robin has been a great support in that matter. Postpartum alone is hard enough and it’s so important to find the right support group. Don’t hesitate to reach out to these ladies if you need help, I promise it will make it so much better!!
