I had been checking Zillow regularly for about a year, looking for an apartment that I really liked. When I discovered Ruby at The Society, I was immediately drawn to its location right in front of Fashion Valley Mall, with the trolley just a five-minute walk away, making it the perfect central spot for visiting various places in San Diego. The photos on Zillow didn’t seem exaggerated, so as soon as our move date approached, I scheduled an apartment tour and visited Ruby.
Ruby was exactly as it appeared in the photos, if not better. On the day of the tour, I visited six different apartments from morning until afternoon, and Ruby was the last one. This made it easy to compare the attitude and service of the apartment office staff. Cooper was by far the most professional and kind person I’ve met, including the staff at our current apartment office. It didn’t feel like just sales talk; Cooper was clear and precise, answering all our questions thoroughly. After the tour, he quickly followed up with a detailed email summarizing everything and provided all the necessary documents and information in an organized manner.
Anyone who has experienced the professional world can immediately recognize Cooper’s level of professionalism just by reading his emails. Thanks to Cooper, the entire process of signing the lease was smooth and hassle-free.
We have now been living here for almost a year and felt it was time for an accurate review. Starting off from our move in process, we worked closely with Casey to tour the apartment, not once but twice. Casey was super helpful in this process as well as answering all of our questions and making it easy from across the country. Since Casey has moved to another property, Cooper has been nothing short of amazing. He is always there to answer any questions we have, have great conversations in passing and is super friendly. He even let us back into our apartment after being locked out when he was supposed to leave an hour earlier. Cooper truly goes above and beyond for the tenants. The gym is great, the pool is quiet. Sometimes you can hear your upstairs neighbors but rarely. The trolley station behind the apartment is also super convenient for going downtown and to padres games.
I moved to Ruby at The Society about a month ago and I’m so happy with my decision! Choosing an apartment remotely was initially challenging, but Sales Associate, Cooper Matthijssen, made the process so seamless. His professionalism, timely communication, and willingness to make sure all of my questions were answered really made me feel comfortable and prepared prior to the move.
Besides the amazing service, I feel very safe and comfortable at Ruby. The units are high quality, amenities are beautiful and clean, and any maintenance issues I’ve had have been solved very timely. The location itself has been extremely convenient and accessible. Very satisfied with my experience so far!

Great living experience! Cooper at the leasing office has been extremely helpful and effective in helping us make the move as seamless as possible. The apt complex is very well kept and safe. Maintenance is very quick to fix things too. Really enjoying the community and the place!
