  1. We have to come to Birmingham every week for my son’s appointments and have stayed here twice now. The staff are always sweet people, from the front desk, breakfast attendants, and housekeeping. Speaking of breakfast is always fresh and hot here, my kids love the oatmeal and toppings that go with it. I enjoyed the decaf coffee and chocolate chips this morning in my oatmeal. Our rooms are always spacious and very clean. We enjoy the location proximity to the hospital and eateries in the area.

  2. Hotel room was clean and spacious. We were only here overnight but the suites would be great for longer stays and are fully equipped including dishwasher, microwave, stovetop, couch, and work desk area.

The pool was clean and refreshing on a hot summer day! The elevator and hallways had a bit of a smell, didn’t seem to affect the rooms.

Breakfast was very nice for a free morning meal.

Hotel is a bit pricey and parking is a bit of a pain, watch out for the random curb. Location isn’t bad and it was quiet overall for being in the city.

  3. While the room was decent, the bed was comfortable and it was quiet. However there were several issues. The refrigerator looked like someone had beaten it with a hammer. As a Marriott member I asked about water when we checked in and was told they were out. So we bought a couple from them at a cost with tax of $5.50 each. Was also told they were out of lemonade etc so no afternoon treats. At breakfast Saturday morning the breakfast area was smaller than a typical Holiday Inn, so much smaller than I expected for a Residence Inn. The line for those waiting for the one pancake machine made it a long wait to get eggs. No oatmeal, no yogurt, very little choice. Should figure out a way to not have the pancake folks to block everyone from getting food. Plus having one machine for this size hotel is very poor planning. Over the years we have picked Residence Inn partially because of the good efficient food. Did not get a good value for the cost at this location. The Wi-Fi was not very good.

  4. Everything about this location is great except for…… the staff. As a warning, if you book with a third party, they do not train their front desk reps on how the process works and expect for them to be extremely unprofessional, ghetto and rude. You will then have to call the third party after they have loudly accused you of not booking a room because “WE DONT HAVE IT IN THE SYSTEM, YOU DIDNT PAY FOR A ROOM” you will then have to call the third party booking system and the third party will speak to the front desk and after the manager gets involved, the manager tells the front desk rep “oh you have to enter these manually”. No one apologizes and you’ve wasted 40 minutes after being at a hospital all day seeing a family member and all you wanted to do was rest.

Please stay away, the service is giving Motel 6. Filing a complaint and if you are the franchise owner please send me your contact information.
