  1. We check in for one night as we decide to drive down a night early before our condo was ready. We walked into our room and it’s smelt awful then when we open the bathroom door there were cockroaches on the wall. The floors were nasty and looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in ages. Went to the front desk and asked for a refund and was told it would be refunded back to my card in 3-5 business days. Definitely do not recommend staying here, note to self cheaper is definitely not always better.

  2. Compared to other Red Roofs, the mattresses at this location were not comfortable. They felt springy. Also, the air conditioner sounded like it was snoring all night.

The value and proximity to the beach are nice.

The woman working at the front desk was very friendly. However, I asked for a ground-floor room, and I was told they were all booked or reserved. Then, a majority of them seemed to remain empty. It was very inconvenient to carry my elderly dog up and down the stairs.

    Overall, it’s average.

  3. Booked a room a few hours ago and found bugs in our room. The hotel clerk along with manager refused to refund our money for the room. The clerk went out her way to check the room instead of just accommodating us. They expected us to sleep in a bug infested room. That’s not even the icing on the cake, 2 other customers had bed bugs, some unknown bugs and pubic hairs in their bed as well. We all left and now are fighting to get our refunds. Stay away!! And they get on here and respond to their negative reviews, once again, without accommodating their guest! If we can’t beat you refunding us personally, we will dispute it with our banks with pictures expeditiously!!

  4. The man at the front desk was very accommodating and professional. Inside the room we had several issues: dirt and bright yellow stains on the bed coverlets and bedspreads (and one even had hair on it) and a slippery substance on the floor. The receptionist walked with me to my room to collect the bedding but had nothing to give me to replace them except 1 blanket. He said he’d have it all washed and to ask for it when we got in that night. So, we did. The night shift receptionist had no idea what I was talking about, and there were no clean linens to give us. My husband slept under a beach towel, and my kids luckily brought their own blankets. I canceled my 2nd night first thing in the morning, and we got out of there. The morning receptionist was not apologetic, but she was knowledgeable about the charge/refund process through Expedian.

  5. Me and my family stayed at the Gulf shores location for 3 nights last month. The rooms were nasty and floors were dirty. I requested a refund and was refunded for 1 night. I put that in the past and moved on. My card was charged again yesterday morning for the exact amount that was charged when we went last month. Called the hotel(couldn’t get anyone on the phone for hours) when I finally got someone on rhe phone the person that answered was extremely rude and unprofessional. Stated one manager was sick and the other was on vacation and there was nothing she could do. I explained the importance of getting my money back as I had bills to pay, she didn’t care. Tried calling many times today with no answer.
