  1. The staff here were amazing! From checking in to cleaning services to the breakfast buffet, they went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. The breakfast was a tremendously nice bonus every morning. Great waffles, coffee and attentiveness to their display, keeping tables wiped down as people came and went and keeping the coffee hot.
The location was within walking distance of stores, restaurants and a short walk, bicycle or Uber ride to the beach. All in all, this property is a streal and hidden gem for the price in this area. It’s a well-maintained, older property in a great location and the staff was most attentive. I’ll add it was quiet. I didn’t hear any loud music, TVs, partying. I’d recommend it and will stay here again.

  2. Building is central to everything! 5 minutes from the beach, 5 from local cuisine and shopping, and 10 minutes from the zoo. Cheaper than on the beach but you still get all the fun things you want to do.

The rooms are rated 3 because we had kids with us and the babies crawled on the floor and had black all over their knees, outfits and were so gross from the floors. We had 3 separate rooms and 2 of the rooms the doors wouldn’t close correctly. We asked for sheets as we had a pull out bed, and they didn’t give us a fitted sheet and no blanket for the bed. We asked for an extra blanket and we were told only one per room. There are also no towels in the pool area, and we were unable to get extra from the front desk either.

The staff overall were nice, and this is one of the first quality inn locations we have really had this many issues. We also caught wind it may go under new ownership soon or being remodeled soon, which would not be a bad thing.

Would we stay again? In regards to location and price you really can’t beat it, but we do hope there are improvements soon.

  3. I will start by saying the hotel staff were all so nice. The man that did the hotel breakfast was the sweetest person & he did a great job. We even watched him cook more as people came in 5 minutes before breakfast was over. The pool was pretty good. It was very clean and the water was warm enough. I wouldn’t recommend the Quality Inn in Gulf Shores to anybody though. We had to book this unexpectedly because we ended up needing one more night and everything was full. I know you get what you pay for but at $200 a night I would expect better to say the very least. When we walked in downstairs it wasn’t so bad. Once we went upstairs the hallway was completely full of trash where the floors hadn’t been vacuumed in at least a week or longer. The lights flickered and the hall was very dim. I told my husband and children I felt like we were in a scary movie. As soon as we opened the door to our room we were hit with the most awful smell. The bedding was stained, sinks, counters and shower were dirty. We asked to switch rooms and our next room smelled just as bad. The room appeared to be slightly cleaner and the beds were clean. They don’t issue refunds so we were stuck. I spent most of my night reading reviews realizing we were actually blessed not to have any roaches or bed bugs. My husband and children finally fell asleep but it was mostly a sleepless night for me. As I was gathering our stuff to leave I leaned over to unplug our phone & watch chargers and happened to notice something laying in the floor behind the curtain.. I asked my husband to check and make sure it wasn’t something of ours.. it was dirty underwear.. that did not belong to us. I was so happy to get out of there. We won’t be back. If a situation ever arises again we here we need to book an extra night unexpectedly I would sleep in my car before I sleep there.

Having said all of that, I apologize to the ones at that hotel that are working hard and doing their very best. I left a lot out of this review because I don’t want to be rude.. just want people to have the heads up that I wish we would’ve had.

  4. This hotel is definitely not worth what I paid. It wasn’t filthy but I definitely was dated. The side door stayed open all night long (no key card needed to enter the hall with the stairs and elevator. The pool was full of hair and they DO NOT have a hot tub. It’s been covered. Breakfast was so packed with people that we left because there were so many people in line waiting for food to be cooked and brought out. The toilet was stopped up and we had to plung it ourselves. The sink was stopped up also and the water took forever to drain. The room smelled like cleaner and mildew. I personally wouldn’t stay here again.

  5. Check in was easy and quick. The hallways are so dim, that its almost too dark. When we got to our room, our bed wasn’t made and the sheets were dirty. My husband went back to the front desk and was given a set of clean sheets and told to change them himself. He then gave them the dirty comforter that was on the bed and asked for a clean one, and we received a ripped one. The light over the mirror didn’t work correctly and flashed like a strobe light. The toilet ran all night long and the shower dripped. It seemed like we rented a room in a haunted house instead of a hotel. I understand you get what you pay for; however at $192.00 a night I expected clean sheets, a bed that was made and lights that worked. We would have left and went somewhere else but there was no rooms available. I will never ever stay here again and if I could give this establishment 0 stars I absolutely would.
