Come here for lunch quite often. The folks at the deli counter making the subs a few months ago were great; friendly, engaging, efficient, made great quality sandwiches. Recently over the last few weeks the staff has changed & the experience has gone downhill rapidly. Poor quality sandwiches, poor attitudes towards customers, poor overall experience. I love Publix and shop for groceries exclusively at their stores, but I’m quickly losing any desire to return to this Athens / HWY 31 location for lunch. Maybe the one on 72 is better?
They have fabulous sales. Their customer service is #1!!!
They go above & beyond to help their customer & treat them with such respect & the best care around!

Ordered a medium cookie platter with icing to give as a “thank you” gift and the platter that Publix bakery prepared did not look like what I ordered. The cookies were put in a container that was too large for the amount I ordered. The container of icing was supposed to be in a round cup to sit in the center but was put in a square container which looked really tacky. With the container being too large the cookies were sliding around. Did not get the specific cookies that are shown on the website. I was very embarassed to give this as a gift! Also ordered an anniversary cake a month ago and the colors of flowers was not like the photo online. I have always loved Publix Bakery but will not order from them again!
Great service & good selection of meats & veggies. Always fresh & lots of choices.Always clean & greeted with smile. A great store..
Not saying ppl weren’t nice but here’s my experience…I ordered a cake..they put wrong decorations on it..used vomit yellow in color to frost and the very worse part…the greeting in pink on a man’s cake..too late to get it redone and everybody laughed at decorations and pink writing!!!! Very not happy..fire ur decorator..they ruined my b- day party!!!
