My last few visits the fried chicken hasnāt been fresh. The chicken is kept in a warmer and itās barely warm to the touch. The collard greens was sweet. The rice isnāt cooked long enough. It used to be good. I keep giving them benefit of a doubt. This will be my last time throwing my money away at this place. I spent $15 and some change for 1 breast, collards and rice with gravy and I couldnāt enjoy it.
I love a good meat and three. Pannie-Georgeās is all that and more. I was hoping for some fresh fried chicken but it was going to be a 20-minute wait so I went for the chicken and dumplings instead. Oh so yummy! It did not disappoint.
The butterbeans and mashed potatoes were equally tasty. Ditto on the cornbread, which was moist and full of flavor. Not dry, which is what most places serve.
But the very best was dessert, which was peanut butter cake. Perfect blend of moist cake and a sweet but not too sweet icing. I can tell you Iāve never had better. So good I got a piece to go for later. ā¤ļø
Add to this the welcoming kindness of every person on staff we encountered. It really made my day.
If youāre in the area, this is one delightful place you donāt want to miss. š
I was really looking forward to eating here after hearing so many good reviews. So I scheduled to have some friends meet me. They food was satisfying & I would eat here again but not as spectacular as the reviews made it seem. Glad I experienced it.
I went here for lunch!! Kind staff. Food was mediocre. I got the 1 meat(chicken breast) combo includes 3 sides a roll and drink with 2 extra peices of meat (chicken wing and catfish filet) for $25. Catfish filet was very stale. Black eye peas and yams were alright.Chicken was good. Overall the staff were kind, the vibe of the restaurant felt like a 90s cafeteria line restaurant with some seating. The food was seasoned pretty good but tasted like they cooked it 2 days ago and left it out overnight. Would be good if the food was fresh.
I am not a negative foodie by any means. I drove hours to work in Auburn today and stopped in for a good Southern cuisine. The food looked so bad I played it safe and only asked for 1 piece of fried chicken, a roll and a slice of cake. The cake was box mix jarred icing, the chicken was cold and tough. (No flavor) I sprinted to the pond behind the restaurant and puked multiple times. I am not kidding, I vomited over and over. The food was that bad and when the grease hit my stomach, it was bad! I never ever left a review like this before, but it was the worst Southern Food Iāve ever had! I didnāt attach a photo of food because itās feeding catfish right now in the pond. The trash can got the rest. The store bought roll was good.
