  1. To be honest, I didnā€™t want to write this review, but itā€™s going up.

I went here for my auntā€™s wedding. Everything was fine until the end.

I had brought a Nintendo Switch and couldnā€™t find it in my bag. I know I didnā€™t take it out of my room because I only played it on the plane ride to San Francisco. I contacted the hotel and they said they checked my room and didnā€™t find it. Itā€™s not in my bags, itā€™s not in the hotel room, so I can only conclude one of the cleaners stole it.

Iā€™ll gladly take this review down if they find and return the Nintendo Switch, but until then, the review will remain up as a warning to those who might stay here. Your stuff might get stolen so please be careful.

  2. The hotel itself is lovely but itā€™s unacceptable that they do not pay the staff a living wage. We spent five days at the hotel and were met with the employee strike. Our rooms were not serviced and the wedding I was there for as the maid of honor was really let down by the lack of service, cleaning and the restaurants being closed. Instead of spending time with the bride I had to go shop and build our own room service, it was not what he envisioned. Considering what we paid for a 5 star hotel I had expected much more. Lilly who helped us by the pool prior to the strikes was incredible, kind, and more than deserving of a dignified salary. Since the strike is a direct result of the hotel not paying its workers fairly, the entire fiasco I experienced was avoidable, really unacceptable.

  3. Our stay at this hotel was fantastic. The buildingā€™s architecture is amazing, and you can spend hours in the lobby just taking it all in. The staff were great tooā€”everyone from the bellmen and valet to the concierge, dining staff, and housekeepers were professional, friendly, and super helpful. They really went out of their way to accommodate all our needs and requests during our few days of stay with a little baby. It was a wonderful experience for my family and me, and weā€™ll definitely choose this hotel for our next trip to SF.

  4. Stayed at the Palace for a weekend last week and it was nothing short of fantastic. First of all the front desk lady that assisted us was exceptional, she also made it possible so my sisterā€™s room was right next to mine which made things so flawless for us. She did this without me asking, as she noticed we booked separately. Now thatā€™s attention to detail and anticipating the needs of the customer. The bell desk and man were lovely and attentive as well. The rooms were fantastic, loved the attention to detail and decor, the soft grey hues and the comfort of the beds and soft linens. We also ordered room service and were pleased with it. All those were a plus. The one delta I have is the price of valet parking, one word: excessive.
Overall this is a stunning and historical property that I would definitely come back to.
