  1. Great place for family and friends. My kids and I enjoyed the hotel. Bathroom remodeled with heater systems keep you warm. They have some rooms with jacuzzi my wife last time we were here. I have been to this hotel 3 times and no complaints. Fireplace, microwave, and fridge what more can you ask. I’m giving it a 5 star due to location and room well maintained and prompt costumer service.

  2. My boyfriend and I love traveling the coast so we are always looking up places to stay at. We came across this place while googling places to stay a couple of times and we were very hesitant to book because of the reviews. We decided to take a risk and needless to say the reviews are on point!
Our room had great views of the ocean. We took advantage of that! It was hard to hear the waves during the day because of the traffic but I actually didn’t mind it too much. Night time was better! We only had one bad encounter with front desk on the 1st night. We called down for more towels around 9 pm and the front desk guy (Bob) told us to come get the towels so my bf did ( guy was hard to deal with). The next day we spoke to front desk and the lady was kind and apologized and made sure that we had a better experience.
Room was clean and housekeepers were professional and pleasant. My only suggestion is more towels and to place a garbage can in the restroom and an additional one in the sleeping area. One small garbage can is not sufficient.
This hotel is definitely in need of better maintenance and upgrades. The jacuzzi was nice but had some defects. The hot water knob was broken and not all of the functions worked.
Bathroom had some upgrades (sink and faucet was new ) the lighting was above the sink but super old and coming apart. The room was pretty basic and had some nice amenities and the bed was pretty comfy. We did a lot of exploring and hiking in the area so we were pretty satisfied that it was in a great location and the restaurant on the property was so worth the stay. So if you’re looking for convenience to trails, ocean, good food then this is a great choice.

  3. The Pacific Beach Hotel is located in a beautiful area with a water view, but it needs significant repairs and maintenance. The elevator was out of order, and the visible wear and tear made the building appear to have been constructed in the 1970s or 1980s.

The service staff was friendly, but they felt they needed to be more welcome, and the location was remarkable. However, the hotel needs repairs and a lot of tender loving care (TLC). The caulking around the bathtub was haphazardly done, and the faucets needed to be fixed. The room was less clean than we would have liked, with carelessly placed linens in the bathroom. We even found dirt on our blanket and hair on some towels. The walls were old and in need of a fresh coat of paint. I tried to talk to the housekeeper lady in the hallway, but she didn’t speak English. We went to the store to purchase Lyson for the room to spray.

The bed was extremely comfortable on the plus side, and my boyfriend and I enjoyed it. We love the jacuzzi inside the bedroom. We didn’t like to have the preferred occupants in room 1309, who played loud music all night and created a lot of noise. My boyfriend had to leave the room at 2 am and ask them to quiet down because people were trying to sleep. Overall, this place is a 3, and I have no plans to return.

  4. The best part was that we got a room with a beautiful view of the ocean. The shower only had the barest hint of warm water and it would take forever for the water to drain leaving you standing in 3 inches of water by the time you finished. We asked the front desk to get it fixed and they said they sent someone while we were out but it definitely wasn’t fixed…which we found out later that when we had to use the show again. We were able to get really hot water into the Jacuzzi tub though at least. The front desk was friendly enough and helpful seeming when we needed ice or extra towels. The hotel is on a pretty busy intersection but the cross walk helps with making it safer to make it across the street/highway to the beach.

  5. Moldy rooms, completely non-functional jacuzzi, and fire alarms going off for the whole building for 30 mins at 9am because of construction work. It was impossible for me to work and my partner to sleep. I contacted the property about the complaints and they were completely dismissive of everything and offered no options except a discount on my next stay (I have no intention of staying here again). The property is in disrepair and it is evident that there is no care or money put into maintenance. I genuinely feel scammed.

If you have any self-respect, you will choose a different place to stay- you deserve better than Pacifica Beach Hotel.
