  1. Our waitress was very friendly and also very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was very good. The blackened shrimp with grits was stellar. Shrimp were perfectly cooked. The salad bar was also very nice and itā€™s pretty cool that they let you use the salad bar as one of your side dishes with your meal. The gumbo is also very good and also the red beans and rice. I found to be quite nice and this is high praise considering I am from South Louisiana! Iā€™ve also had the whole flounder before which is very nice. One of the best places in the area to have a seafood meal in my opinion

  2. I recently visited The Oyster House, thanks to my buddy Chris, and I was absolutely blown away! The salad bar was fresh and diverse, offering a great start to the meal. The crab legs were succulent, the gator was a unique and delightful experience, and the fresh seafood was top-notch. Every dish was perfectly prepared, making it a seafood loverā€™s paradise. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall fantastic dining experience. Highly recommended!

  3. We visited on a Monday at lunchtime in July. They were well staffed and had no trouble seating us right away. We had a lovely window view and a very attentive waiter named Steve Shilitoe. We got 2 very shareable appetizers on this visit. The Cajun popcorn shrimp and fried crab claws were both very good with table side freshly made cocktail sauce. For a casual lunch this was a good spot. We also tried two local IPAs ($10 a glass).
There were a couple kid friendly options. And it was accessible by ramp.

  4. If youā€™re looking for an amazing seafood place while youā€™re in Gulf Shores, you wonā€™t be disappointed with the Original Oyster House Boardwalk. Our family of six went there twice during our vacation and we canā€™t wait to go back again next year. The first time we drove by it, there were at least 50 people sitting and standing in line to get in. We decided to go early (around 4p) to avoid a long wait. We got seated right away, even when we asked for a table by a window. This place is so much bigger than it looks from the outside, but both times we went, it was packed! The menu has multiple platter options that offer a variety of seafood on one plate if you canā€™t decide between your favorites. The Poā€™ Boy was massive, stuffed with shrimp on a roll that was so fresh and soft, I couldā€™ve eaten it by itself and been happy. We ordered the seafood gumbo, alligator bites, and several different platters. Each was generously portioned and absolutely delicious!! The servers were top notch. All of them were so friendly, patient, knowledgable and attentive. The salad bar had a wide variety of things to choose from and was constantly being refilled. Donā€™t skip the potato salad. It was amazing, too! As we were getting ready to leave and paying our bill at our second visit, we noticed the table behind us had what looked like a strawberry shortcake parfait that we didnā€™t see on the menu. We asked our server about it and found out itā€™s a seasonal item thatā€™s only offered occasionally. So of course, we had to get it, along with the peanut butter pie and key lime pie. All of them were outstanding and only $7 each!! One of my sons got a second piece of the peanut butter pie to go so he could have it all to himself later. Was it expensive? Yes and no. Feeding six adults is always expensive but the prices were more than fair for the quality and quantity of food we had, so I highly recommend!

  5. This place was very busy but the service was good. The blacked flounder was great. The crab stuffed grouper was hefty but good. The fried alligator bites and fried pickles had good flavor but lots of breading. Get ready for feeling full if you are not used to fried food. The key lime pie was out of this world.
