  1. Absolutely disgraceful place, so I tried to get the funding funds for training and they accepted me ( I asked them: am I qualified? I’m from SF, and they answered yes) so I did all that I needed to meet requirements and they after all I did Nova emailed me and told : sorry we are not accepting from SF anymore!!! its Bay Area !! It’s nothing to do for help people , just wasting taxpayers money

  2. I agree with everything said in the 1 star reviews.

A few employees are good, but most are either arrogant, rude or simply not qualified for their positions. They have a nice array of services but the delivery of those services is unsatisfactory.

  3. I was unhappy with the services I received from NOVAworks. They have some valuable services for job seekers, such as resume writing and career counseling; however, they need to improve their administration and quality control. Some of their employees are nice and helpful, but others are incompetent and rude.

Their workshops are also inconsistent in quality. Some of them were informative and engaging, but others were dull, disorganized, and delivered by staff members who lacked the simplest presentation skills. I felt like I wasted my time attending them.

Finally, their processes, systems, and workflows need improvement. They lead to them providing wrong information, lost opportunities to their customers, among other problems that frustrate their customers. They do not take responsibility for their mistakes.

I would not recommend the NOVAworks to anyone who is looking for effective and trustworthy employment and training services.

  4. I joined NOVA back in 2001 where they essentially kicked me out and sent me to their sidekick organization called Pro Match. This became an auditorium of unemployed people with minimal oversight by the county conducting the meeting with volunteers with poor presentation skills.

I registered and should have a membership where it was lost by the administration at the time.

I rejoined NOVAworks in 2023 and found their curriculum through Zoom meetings helpful and engaging.

When I tried to schedule an appointment with a counselor that many of my friends have worked with I was told that they were seeing people on a limited basis and they would contact me if they felt like it.

I didn’t feel this was appropriate for a person working with an agency that’s supposed to help people to pick and choose who they feel they will see when a person has setup an appointment to see them.

Some of the counselors don’t recognize the work and experience that a person has to offer and how to recognize it in a resume. That’s why I need an expert or an experienced professional to work with. I find most the younger staff has limited knowledge on how to formulate a good resume to show these advanced skills, experience and qualities that a company will recognize.
