I currently have been staying at the Montecito apartment homes in Visalia, CA which is a very very nice modern apartments that come in 1-3 bedroom set ups. I currently have a 2 bedroom and it is huge. Both of the bedrooms are evenly sized and each have their own bathroom and walk in closets. My favorite thing about the place is that is in a gated community and has 24/7 security that drives around looking for suspicious activity. Also being that I am super tall, the vaulted ceilings and 8 ft tall doorways makes the apartment feel even bigger than it already actually is. I signed a 10 month lease and have another 8 to go and plan to extend that as long as possible as well. 👍👍👍👍
The Montecito Apartment Homes have taken the cake for the worst apartments I have ever lived in by far. I have lived in lower income apartments in worse neighborhoods and still never had to experience what I experienced at Montecito. I wish I was able to say that the bug infestation was the worst part but the management and community was a nightmare to live with. Everyday at least 2 new cockroaches and silverfish would randomly appear in our apartment, whether that was in beds, on the walls, or in clothes. There are so many stray cats outside the apartments, when trying to go on family walks you could see and feel fleas jumping on your ankles one after another it was absolutely disgusting. We had neighbors that would get many complaints and management would do nothing about it. There were drug deals in the parking lot of the residence, used heroin needles left on the floor outside, and racist terms written in chalk on the sidewalk of the residence. There were so many nights we would hear fights, screaming and threats of shootings happening just next door of our home. When complaining to management they would state that they are taking care of it but realistically would turn their cheek and look away from the issue just to continue receiving payments from them just to make money. I am so grateful to have moved out of these apartments and would highly advise everyone to stay away from these apartments.
We just moved out after living here for a short amount of time. I feel like I have to disagree with some reviews on here. We really enjoyed our stay here! Prices were reasonable considering all that is offered (and are literally the same as other apartments in Visalia that aren’t up to date). The apartments are super clean and up to date. Maintenance was always so on top of every little thing I needed and were all so friendly. Tony in the office always answered my questions and made us feel cared for. If we were staying in Visalia for longer I would’ve stayed and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay.
We’ve been here going on 10 months now, and I can honestly say we really like it here. It’s peaceful, quiet, well kept. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The amenities are always very clean. These apartments are unlike any other apartments we’ve seen. The manager is very nice and helpful. He’s always welcoming and easy to talk to. If you’re looking for a place that will feel like home, this is definitely the place for a small family or young couple starting out. I genuinely have no complaints about these apartments. Maybe they can add some extra trash cans throughout the complexes for dog waste, but that’s about it.
– [ ] The worst place to rent in Visalia and Tulare. They have two different buildings in two different locations under different name. Tony the manager of the Montecito building is a fraud. Not sure if the landlord / corporate is aware of this or not but they should since they made this man to run their business to the ground.
– [ ] 1. He advertises that the building has solar system but then every month we were being charged $200-300 per month. We were barely even home since we work 10 hour shift and weekends we were always away. After going back and forth to him he finally admitted that to us “that the landlord benefits from the solar system, not the tenants”. Basically he is a fraud. He over charges people.
– [ ] 2. They advertise that house was built in 2020. However don’t be fooled. There is cockroaches everywhere in the house. We kept calling Tony and he kept denying and saying it’s due to the rain. We had to email him photos. There was cockroach during June and July where there was zero rain.
– [ ] 2. I have photos and video of how clean the house was when we gave our keys back to Tony. He specifically said to me that the house is spotless so he won’t charge much. I specifically told him I want a receipt for every charges you take from my deposit. By california law they have to show that they actually paid for these cleaning services. It’s funny that he thinks his tenants are dumb and he has been happily cheating the system and stealing money. Well if I had the time I would take him to court and I hope someone would take this corporate and Tony who runs it to court because god knows how many people he is stealing from. The funny thing he has send me a bill on top of the page stated summary of estimated or actual charges and he has charged me wipe down clean-lighting House cleaning for $165 plus another $110 for carpet cleaning. Since I asked for a receipt for everything he has charged for, the only thing he has sent me was a page printed from a cleaning website that states they charge $165 for wipe down but there is no receipt that stated he actually paid for these services. He thinks everyone are dumb like he is. Please save yourself time and money and don’t apply for these houses. There is plenty of apartments in Visalia that is cheaper and cleaner than this place.
