If youâve got 3 hours to kill, most of it waiting then this is place for you! Staff is annoyed when you ask why you are in the waiting room an hour after your scheduled appointment. Do better! You have elderly patients but their time is not any less important!!
You bill the insurance companies enough to hire more staff!!
Ok doctor (Dr. Cesar), but terrible, horrible office and nursing staff.
Massive incompetence on the admin/nursing side that theyâve apparently been covering by punching down on the patients. Iâve seen this in my own field. Cover their own incompetence from the boss by making it look like the customers are the problem.
If you choose Merced Urology be ready to double check everything yourself. If they issue a procedure order call the place they issue it to and double check itâs correct before going.
Once youâve had the test/procedure call and make sure theyâve sent it to Merced Urology. Then call Merced Urology to make sure they have it before you go to a follow up appointment.
Call the day before any Merced Urology appointment and confirm your appointment and, if applicable, check that they have any test results previous ordered. BONUS: Bring your own physical copies of your test results.

Our experience:
Theyâre handling a procedure for my MiL. Theyâve been nothing but hurdles and we havenât even had the procedure yet. They called us on a Wednesday said they could get us in on the following Monday for pre-op but they needed X-Rays. We tell them we can do that. They tell us the appointment is set for 2:30 on Monday.
Thursday
â Firstly they sent the X-Ray to a facility that doesnât offer that procedure.
-Then they sent a new order to a new facility *but didnât have the doctors signature* So we had to wait for that to go through. Played phone tag with them and the X-Ray facilities for 2 hours before we could even go get the X-Ray. Had to take an *ENTIRE DAY off of work* for something that was a 30 minute walk-in if their paperwork had been in order and correct.
Monday
We call to confirm the appointment Monday morning.
â The facility the doctor uses for appointments doesnât have it on the books.
â The Doctorâs Admin location doesnât have it on the books. We push because we went through X-Ray hell for this appointment. Turns out it had been âsubmittedâ but not âput throughâ so they do that.
â We show up at 2:15 for an appointment at 2:30. We sign in. We wait.
â Weâre not see By the nurse till 4pm. Weâre put in the waiting room again. We get placed in a room at 4:50. Dr Cesar walks in the door at 5:05. Itâs pretty clear they put us as an âadd on appoitmentâ at the end of the day. Dr Cesar is surly, disgruntled and just overall done with the day. He has up till now been professional.
â He asks for X-Rays, we donât have them we were told they were sent over (I had called and confirmed with the XRay facility that they had been sent back to Merced Urologists). No one in the office told us to make sure we had physical copies. He orders X-Rays for the day of the procedure (Friday). So I wasted a day last Thursday for nothing. He tells us the nurse will finish up details.
â Nurse gives us paperwork and a packet to take to the Hospital. I Specifically ask her if we need anything out of the packet, she says âno take it to registration no later than Wednesdayâ. I heard it, my husband heard it, my MiL heard it.
Tuesday
â We take the packet to the Hospital registration, they tell us they canât register us fully till the bloodwork is done. We donât have a bloodwork order. Woman at the desk opens the packet, looks inside and pulls out an order. Sheâs *SHOCKED* that they didnât tell us we needed blood work. Equally as surprised they told us we didnât need anything from the packet.
TO BE CONTINUED. Hopefully the procedure goes well, but I donât trust the admin or nursing staff here, so we double check everything and call to confirm everything. Otherwise, great doctor.
Doctor Cesar relies on his experience in addition to modern technology to assess and treat the current issues. He has great patient rapport and encourages patient involvement with treatment options. His PA Phil is outstanding, courteous and knowledgeable as well.
Clearly, being a Physicianâs Assistent means far less here than elsewhere in the meducal profession, in my experiemce. Also, the lack of interest in my health and in finding the right variation of medicine to prescribe indicated to me that they are comfortable with the number of patients they have, and wish to focus on higher profit prospects than I apparently presented to their practice. I am sorry to have spent my time seeking assistence here.
Little slow with checking in due to under staff. The people were very nice and pleasant. The nurse was outstanding. Very knowledgeable about what she was doing. She took the time to explain the procedure and answered my questions. Made me feel very comfortable. I would recommend this clinic in a heartbeat.
