  1. We stayed 1 night out of the blue. Location is great and view is gorgeous. Hotel needs a massive updating. It could be so so much better with that view. Curtains need replacing. Rooms are tired. Receptionist was nice but that’s pretty much it. I couldn’t sleep as you could hear the buoy as it was inside my brain .

  2. The staff were polite and cordial. The bathroom area and room were clean. The location had an incredible ocean view. However the carpets and furniture around the hotel are not well maintained and it does not feel sanitary. The curtains are ripped. Our room was super tiny and the bathroom too. The balcony is a dump! I cannot believe the chairs were all ripped and super old, I have never seen anything like this in another hotel. The building structure has holes and it’s rusted. This place is not charming or vintage. I do not recommend anyone to stay here. The Google hotels photos are deceiving.

  3. We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is in a prime location with rooms offering ocean or garden views. Our second-floor ocean view room had an attached washroom and a shared balcony with a seating area to enjoy the view. Though the room was old, it was clean, as was the bathroom. The mattress was hard and springy. One night, the TV didn’t work, and the other night, a noise revealed the fire alarm battery needed replacement. The hotel is carpeted throughout, with the lobby carpet being slightly smelly and the room carpet feeling old. For an inexpensive stay with an ocean view, it’s a decent option.

  4. Came here while traveling along the Pacific Coast on a bicycle.

This hotel has a bed at a decent price and a shower, which was enough for us.

The people helping us when we arrived and left were nice and cared about our experience.

The hotel also very nicely preserves the 19th century character of an old town hotel. That does mean that some things are old and clunky by today’s standards, and that some others are retrofits that struggle to blend in with the rest of the interior. At this price however that is not something I will complain about.

  5. Beautiful historic hotel in a prime location. I was in an room on the backside of main building with an attached bathroom. Room was clean, with a decent enough mattress, but can get stuffy. I did have a fan with me and it definitely needed it.
Staff was nice and helpful with any questions I had.
