During a road trip, my family and I decided to stop at this restaurant. Food was on point! They provide good southern meals that taste like food from your grandma’s house. They had a wide variety to choose from and I tried the turkey necks and spaghetti. The turkey neck gravy was good! Customer service matched the amazing food!
Amazing food and the most friendly service! The workers truly care about the service they provide and go out of their way to deliver an incredible experience. It’s also extremely affordable! My plate was only $12 (+ a $3 tip). The food is so fresh and made with care! Definitely found my new go to stop for lunch!
Wow, what a wonderful assortment of soul food. I absolutely love this place. I had the best chicken and dumplins I’ve had since my grandmother passed 30 years ago.
I highly recommend this glorious family owned restaurant right in the heart of Mobile. Super friendly staff and greet everyone with a smile.
Thank you guys so much for making this establishment a reality and for being next to our place of business at Brakes For Less. We are super happy.
I honestly don’t think I can put enough words in a review to do this place justice. First, I’ll start with the CHITlins: I’ve never in my life tasted CHITlins so good that adding hot sauce would’ve been an insult. Second: The oxtails. MAN, them Oxtails were among the best I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten them all over the world, nothing but pure tenderness and flavor. Third, those ribs were the type ribs you enjoy at a BBQ in South Central, Chicago, or maybe even Atlanta.
Last and not least, I had the pork chops which I forgot to picture. They were so good, Mobile native Hank Aaron would’ve been proud. Staff was cool and the atmosphere was cooler. Period.
If you are open-minded and willing to not judge a building by the exterior (or interior), then you will find hidden treasure.
I was just passing through town when I had an itch for some proper Southern comfort food, and Mary’s did not disappoint.
The owners were more than friendly, graciously offering me a sample (having never tried Turkey Neck or Ox Tail). When asking about the entrees, I misheard the initial description, thinking it was turkey “legs” – ha!
Portion sizing was too much; they filled the containers FULL!
I had the turkey necks (6+) smothered in a homemade gravy on top a bed of mashed potatoes, along with corn (soaked in butter), sweet yams, and a cornbread muffin; plus a sweet tea.
I was not able to finish everything, and later enjoyed the sweet yams as an afternoon treat.
If I am ever back in this area, Mary’s will be a “must visit” stop for me.
