  1. I had a TERRIBLE experience in the store today. I was in around 12:20 just after grabbing lunch with my husband and I went in to go look at the shoes that are stacked underneath the clothing racks. I was looking for my size in the new balances, and I couldnā€™t find any the right size. The shoebox I opened had shoes much too big in them, and from the angle I was crouching at, I could not close the box all the way. I then sat the shoe box at the bottom of the rack because I couldnā€™t close it enough to fit it back underneath.

A petit brunette woman came over, and asked me if Iā€™d found what I was looking for (seemingly annoyed that Iā€™d left the shoebox at the bottom of the rack). I told her I was looking for a specific size shoe, and couldnt find any that matched. She then proceeded to go through every shoe asking if that was what Iā€™d wanted instead (even tho Iā€™d told her shoe size and the color/type). She finally found the shoe that I was looking for in the right size and then told me to go sit at the back of the store to try shoes on and that I need to ask her if I want to look at anything else. (???!!!?? Wtf?!!? She also wouldnā€™t look at me which I thought was very passive aggressive and weird?)

I really liked the shoes. I even had earrings I wanted to buy, but I was so put off by the terrible interaction, I put the shoes back and I left. Horrible attitude, and not at all a way to treat paying customers.

I donā€™t know what her name was- but she was very petite and had a green shirt on and jeans. Very pretty, but very very very rude. They lost a customer for quite actually NO reason.

  2. Jess C. Was amazing! I had trouble earlier this morning in the online portal and I went in she helped me order my swimsuit online and made the process simple.

She also mentioned the denim donation program to me and was overall very helpful and kind.

  3. Absolutely one of the WORST experiences I have had. I walked in with my daughters and was immediately looked up and down by employee Keith as if I had zero business being in the store. The stares continued and we felt completely judged and discriminated against by all the employees there. Kara the associate also stared continually in addition to Keith who continued to give an attitude and laugh. We could hear them talking about us and turning and laughing. While my daughter was trying something on, they stared at us while outside the dressing room and when we stared back Keith walked by and said something to my daughter negatively. He then took a hanger and threw it in a box right next to where she was standing. When leaving, I asked for his name as well as the managers and was told he was the manager as well as Susan. I later called and asked to speak to Susan and Keith answered. When I asked to speak to her he said she was with a customer. I asked when her shift was over and he would not tell me. I asked when her next shift was he also would not tell me and said they arenā€™t allowed to give out schedules. It should not matter how someone is dressed or if they are perceived to fit whatever image Madewell is trying to cater to. Implicit bias is a very real thing and their staff should be better trained on providing quality customer service. No employee especially a manager should ever laugh, judge, stare, or talk about customers. Do better Madewell.

  4. Thereā€™s a great local business close to our office the name really does kind of stand out to me. It really does matter that things are made well and that you have great plans in place. It also matters that it is close to starbucks. Haha

  5. Iā€™ve gone to this madewell for years. Since it opened. I went yesterday and the staff was horrible. They didnā€™t ask if I needed any help. The manager was more busy teaching the staff what to do than helping customers.I asked a question and I t was a walk away as answering type of thing. The store wasnt organized well at all. The clothes hanging were wrinkly and not organized. I wanted to buy things but was so irritated and frankly shocked at how the store was being ran that I just walked out. It feels like Madewell is turning into a target or Walmart.
