MacArthur place was a beautiful, relaxing hotel and the perfect stay for us during our wedding week! The staff were accommodating, nice and friendly. Shoutout to Erica at the front desk who refrigerated my wedding cake for me! The rooms were spotless and beds were so comfortable. The vibe there is quiet/cozy luxury. We stayed in the magnolia cottage with the outdoor shower which was so lovely! The white rose bushes outside our porch were gorgeous. The food at Layla was also delicious. The service was great. The overall amenities were amazing, we loved the spa and had the best couples massage there. Itâs also walking distance to downtown but the valet makes it easy to park and get your car if you want. They even charged my Tesla for me overnight and were so fast bringing our cars. Couldnât recommend more!!
It pains me to write this review as the grounds are beautiful and the staff was A+. However, if you like getting a good night sleep this hotel isnât for you. You are better off booking The Lodge or The Auberge. At this price point you expect the bed would be like sleeping on a cloud. The reality, bed was very old, hard as rock, caving inâŠbasically like sleeping on a bag of rocks. Linens were scratchy and pillows have seen better days. So if you value sleep, look elsewhere.
If youâre looking for a luxurious, peaceful, romantic getawayâŠlook elsewhere. While the property and rooms are perfection, the staff (from check in, valet, restaurant, pool service) are pretty cold and overall seem miserable) then add constantly barking dogs in the rooms and screaming toddlers at the pool. Could have spent far less and stayed at a budget hotel. A shame because property is very pretty. Overall, great hotel for wealthy families and no one else.
Stop searching, look no further, and book this place. The accommodations were outstanding, rooms new and so nicely appointed- and SUPER CLEAN!!! You could walk all around the room and your the bottom of your socks stay white! The grounds were beautiful, the pool area so serene, the public spaces beautifulâŠThe location was perfect, about a 10- 12 minute walk in to town. The staff was so nice and helpful and considerate, led by the manager Michael who was simply outstanding. He went out of his way to suggest things to do, and personally set us up with electric bikes and a map to tour the town, which was awesome. A great place to call home for a few days!
We popped in for Coffee and pastry and good LORD was it wonderful! I had the mushroom infused cappuccino and my daughter had the mushroom Matchaâboth were amazing! The pastries were incredible, too, and the property is gorgeous.
