Management for this property is the worst. They do not respond to calls, emails, or texts. I moved out three months into my lease because of ongoing issues. Two and a half weeks later, I still have not been able to return my keys or conduct a move out inspection. I recently discovered the property manager blocked my number on her cell phone. Maintenance is also terrible. My refrigerator was not working properly, and it took the technician several days to respond as he admittedly does not check his messages. Long story short, my food spoiled on two separate occasions and I had to toss it all. They have not reimburse me yet! Thereafter, I had leak in my apartment ceiling. I reported the incident, and the technician asked if he could respond the next day because it was 6pm already and he was heading home. Mind you, the light fixture was filled with water, but I guess that was not an emergency. When they finally fixed the leak, they began construction in the apartment without notifying me first. I came back to a disaster in the kitchen. I asked for a hotel due to the overpowering smell of chemicals and paint, and they never responded. Since their property manager has blocked me and she fails to respond to me, I reached out to corporate. I have left messages for three separate employees at their corporate office, and still no response. To boot, the upstairs neighbor was unbelievably noisy and personally confronted me at my apartment. Beware of this property!
Terrible management makes this place a slum. We had a leak in our unit every rainfall that they could not resolve in over a year until we moved out (I doubt it is fixed now). It caused mold in our unit and on our belongings. When we moved out the took us to collections without giving a courtesy notice for an overdue balance on top of them taking our security deposit for repainting a water damaged apartment.
Absolutely horrible management staff. Our apartment flooded every three weeks for 6+ months with no decrease in rent and we had to fight for compensation to clean up water damage. Eventually we got the city involved and vacated the apartment. The management staff was horrendous to deal with, raised their voices at us, and were overall just utterly useless.
The biggest problem with this community is management.
The apartments are okay, considering there are tons of high rises with bright, shiny, never lived in apartments. This place charges the price of high rise for 750 Sq ft and NOTHING ELSE!!! there are zero amenities, no security on duty, and no accountability from the property manager.
We had packages stolen from our mail room, several homeless people tried to break into our apartment, leaks, and all the manager could say was that it “wasn’t the properties’ problem.” It was very disappointing that none of our concerns were really ever addressed in the two years that we lived there. Every time we went in to ask a question, the property manager would be flustered and didn’t know how to answer simple questions or address any of our concerns. It was always deflect, deflect, deflect.
We also heard from several neighbors about their terrible experiences with management as well. Recently, a lot of tenants moved out, including us, due to the manager’s complete lack of tact, empathy, and just knowledge about how to do her job. There was absolutely no concern for residents and their safety/comfort.
It was really hard living in those apartments because every time there was a problem, we knew that nothing would be done about it and that’s exactly what happened for two years.
Honestly, there are nicer places to live in the city for the ridiculous price they are charging for very very VERY basic apartments. Look elsewhere, trust me, you will be better off.
Although some of the interior is a little dated, it is hands down the best sized apartment for the money. You get a lot of square footage, with a dope outdoor patio space. Our unit allowed us to see the weekly Sea World fireworks and the city’s 4th of July show from our patio, can’t beat that. Also the management staff is super chill and easy to work with. I am in the military so sadly we had to move, but if we find ourselves back in SD and Koll Center has available units we will certainly move back
