I have been using JSB for years and personally have seen their customer service really go down over the years. We have 2 cars insured using them, and after today’s experience I will be finding another broker. I tried to insure a travel trailer my family just purchased and not aware of the process. I called and spoke to Hector and he asked for a contract of the vehicle I purchased. I didn’t have to do this with the car we purchased and provide a contract? The RV dealership said that wasn’t standard protocol. I said I wasn’t sure of the protocol and gave Hector the info I was provided with the vin, purchase price, location we we are storing the trailer, etc. I had text over the info and then called back maybe 30 mins later after sending over texts to see if they got my info. His response to me was rude and was like “well yeah I said I’d call you back, and I’m not sure if we can insure it.” Is that how you respond to a customer? Really rude. I was confused and said “this doesn’t make any sense.” One, he wasn’t sure he could insure our brand new trailer we purchased? 2. He never text me back saying he would call me back or that he was working on it in text and I was just supposed to “know.” He continued to argue and gaslight me and defended his rude actions towards me. We will be looking for another broker and taking our business away from them.
When I first started using them it was fine. After my rep left, service went downhill. Something as simple as renewing my home insurance they mixed up with my car insurance….
We have been clients of James (JSB) since he started years ago. I worked with his sister and he use to be a great advocate and insurance provider with competitive rates. This company is way too big, rude agents with terrible customer service. Not what we want at all.
In the last few years, we have asked for a review of our car policy and the cost of insurance and we were alway told, “these are the best rates and with new laws you can’t get the kind of coverage you have with a new policy.” Blah blah blah. We were paying over 555.00 a month for liability for 3 cars, granted my son is a new driver, but high.
I looked into it myself and found that I can get a policy with full coverage on one vehicle, and liability on the other two for 300.00 a month with the exact same cover. I looked into the fine print. JSB insurance is not looking out for its clients. It’s in bed with a few companies keeping clients at high rates, lying about what’s out there. It’s a shame, I always liked James, back when he actually picked up the phone and was working from the ground up company.
JSB has always taken care of me, they notify me when I need to be, they are quick to return calls and quick to answer them.
Hector has been a huge help and I recommend him as he is pleasant to work with and always makes it a smooth process
