Sasha and her team at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins made our wedding reception the most glamorous and fun event ever! We were planning from out of state and didn’t end up seeing the Peacock Court until the day before the wedding but it is a fabulous space and gave our wedding the atmosphere of sophistication and elegance that we wanted. Sasha was able to work with our budget to make it not feel like a budget wedding by accommodating us in unique ways – I would not let financials determine whether you want to reach out to see if the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins is the right wedding venue for you.
Everyone said the food at the wedding was amazing and the staff were all very kind. Sasha took care of laying out all our decor and place cards which created more time for me to spend with my family and friends which I was incredibly grateful for since there is so little time for that on a busy wedding weekend. She also had great recommendations for vendors. I was always able to get in contact with her quickly and her email responses were timely which as an occasionally type A person I appreciated. The bell hops were great about having our car ready to go to our ceremony/other events and helped us unload and load up the car many times always with a smile on their face and a great attitude. The rooms were clean and nice to stay in, especially the bridal suite which had incredible views of the city.
I don’t normally write reviews but I had such a positive experience I wanted other brides/grooms who were stressing about finding venues that are glamorous and accommodating – at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins with Sasha you are at the right place.
A great hotel! We had a wonderful time at the Mark Hopkins Hotel. We were given an upgraded room at no extra charge. The room was spacious and gorgeous! The service was incredible! The breakfast was included and the menu had so many delicious things to pick from. The waiters were so kind and thoughtful. We enjoyed going to the bar at the top of the hotel. It had a beautiful view, great drinks and delicious food! We will definitely back!
We enjoyed a wonderful visit at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for exploring the city (on foot, and via the cable cars; all 3 lines had pick ups just outside the hotel). The rooms were older but generously sized and immaculately clean. As a platinum elite member, we were upgraded to a room with a fantastic view (15th floor). We’d definitely stay here again!
Paid extra to upgrade our rooms and got a junior suite behind the elevator shaft that is noisy at night. The room also had flies on the 14th floor.
Our rooms only had 1 toothbrush or none, and when given feedback, they made it seem like it was on us for not coming down to the front desk to ask.
No drinking water is given or even a kettle.
Not worth the price we paid for everything and parking. Expected better service.
Such an amazing hotel! The whole place is gorgeous and the entire staff are so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed going to the iconic Top of the Mark for drinks and taking in the view.
The only downside is somewhat thin walls. It would have been fine, but we were woken by people entering the next room very loudly at 2am. But that’s out of the hotels control really.
For any fellow film lovers, I love the movie Vertigo by Hitchcock, and hoped to see some sights from the film only to realize shortly after our stay that the hotel is actually mentioned in the movie and also appears in the background in one of the scenes.
