This hidden gem was such a treat! We were just looking for a spot to stop for the night during a long road trip and got lucky and found this beautiful hotel! The main building where breakfast is served is a beautiful historic gone with a huge front porch. You check in at the carriage house and there is the neatest bar there too. The staff were amazing and bent over backwards to make it a nice evening for the us and the other guests . There is a great pool with lots of seating for spending time outside. This wasnāt far from Taladega so would be a good choice if you were going for the races. We will definitely be back!
A beautiful hotel about 8min off of I-20. The hotel grounds were spectacular and the āmansionā was awesome. The morning breakfast is served in the āmansionā and is very good for a continental breakfast. The hotel is not in the best area of the city but it is gated with security; there is little to no noise. The next time Iām driving through the area I will try to plan my trip to stop here again.
It was awful from the very beginning!! They treated us like we were criminals basically. Judgemental because we had just walked quintard for MILES and we were so beyond ready to get settled in our room & restā¦. about 2 hours later still in the lobby [mind you we paid online, had a confirmation number & everything] with all of our things BEYOND aggravated. They Didnāt know how to send an email correctly so we could fill this specific āformā out to stay in our room.. meanwhile 3 ppl have already checked in passing by usā¦ there were others coming in with issues and they didnāt even address them whatsoever. Slow wifi, change machine took money etcetera.
Also our bathroom had a huge leak from the vent in the ceiling. I wish I could get our money back. Whatever.
Bring your own everything bc they donāt supply jack for a hotel thatās supposed to be a 5 star.. you get 1 star from us.
I was super excited to stay at this hotel, but when I arrived I was completely disappointed.
I booked the room months in advance and requested a room with a view. It didnāt have to be a great view, but a view would have been nice. They put my husband and I on the first floor looking at a gate and ugly buildings. They were not busy, they definitely could have gives us a better room.
It was disappointing that when we checked in and got to the room the door didnāt open! We had to walk all the way back to where we checked in for them to tell us that some rooms the door sticks and that we have to lift the handle up. Come on, if they knew that, tell us, or provide a room where we donāt have to wait in the cold trying to get the door open and then have to walk all the way back up with our luggage! We were driving for 10 hours and it was dark and late. We just want to get into our room smooth and easily, which was Not the case.
The pillow had STAINS. And all the blankets and bed sheets had STAINS. It was disgusting. We were so tired that we used towels and our clothes to lay on the bed and sleep. We didnāt bother going to the front because it was late, and we were exhausted. The breakfast was mediocre.
We should get a full refund. I submitted a review that was sent to my email, but no one replied.
Iāve attached photos of the pillow stains. On of the pillows looked like it had Blood on it. It was disturbing.
