Based on my recommendation as a designer, my client was building their first new high-end luxury home; they made several purchases from Matthew, including all the plumbing fixtures, appliances, and cabinetry. My clients were always paying on time and in full payment. The clients paid the company 80% of the invoice in May 2021. After the clients had to wait 14 months for the delivery, they were upset and frustrated. The husband wanted to go with another company, and it took a lot of convincing from me to stay with Home 101. When they did deliver, the cabinetry needed to be assembled and completed. It took a lot of time out of my schedule to deal with constantly having to call them asking for updates on the cabinets; Matthew often wouldnât answer our calls. He was the one to convince us to change the manufacturer because of the delay, which still took a long time to deliver, and we still kept getting the runaround from him. When the cabinets started to be built in the home, I noticed they werenât up to the standards of Omega (the first supplier we initially went with). Before convincing us to change suppliers, he assured me they were as good as Omega. It was a disappointment to see that it wasnât, especially since we had to wait 14 months for just the delivery of the cabinets; it took 19 MONTHS for the installation to be completed. We had problems with Doors that wouldnât close because they were uneven, drawers wouldnât shut right, and it took months for them to correct. We still had four other rooms they were supposed to finish that were in the invoice; we had to find another company for those rooms, and it took months for them to come back. My clients were very nice and so patient. I was thankful because this was the most challenging part of the project.
Before all the craziness, I recommended my sister to them because she was remodeling her kitchen. She ordered the cabinets and sink with them. One of the cabinets was the wrong size, another cabinet door was in the opposite direction, and they ordered the wrong size sink. The day she picked up the sink, she saw it was smaller than the one she ordered. She couldnât return it because no other place had the size or color she wanted. She would have had to wait another three months, and her contractor was already putting the countertops on, so she is stuck with a smaller sink she never ordered. What a disaster it was. I felt terrible because I recommended her.
If you enjoy stressful nights dealing with things you wouldnât usually have to deal with if you were working with another company, then Home 101 is for you, or this review can serve as a Lesson 101.
I ordered 3 appliances that arrived months ahead of the expected date. They stored them until we were ready and delivered on the requested day. I had a question that was thoroughly researched and promptly answered. Excellent customer service! Highly recommend Home 101, especially Shally and Mel!!
I was sent to them by my appliance repair man. I needed a new washer. Laurie helped us and explained the differences of their Speed Queen washers. The shop is new, beautiful, and they have great customer service. I truly liked being in a family run appliance store, rather than a large box store. The personal service we got meant everything!

Home 101 is a GREAT place for finding appliances. They carry numerous high-end appliance brands, but they also carryâwith competitive pricesâthe common brands you find at Home Depot, Lowes, Pacific Sales and Best Buy. My advice is to skip looking at those other places and just go to straight to Home 101. Customer Service was EXCELLENT! My story: I had come to Home 101 (after Googling and Googling and visiting the other places) knowing what I wanted, a particular brand and model of a microwave and an oven, respectivelyâtwo separate units, a big purchase overall. I received a great price for both, ordered them, and Home 101 delivered them promptly. ButâŠI had made a mistake. I had ordered the wrong microwaveâit was my fault. I had already opened the box, since it had already been delivered. The Home 101 folks told me right away, donât worry, they would take back the wrong unit. And they could, and did, order the right one. My entire interaction with them, at every stage, was superb. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. Give them your business! (and I donât usually write reviews for businesses, and they didnât ask me to do so. I volunteered!)
