Had a 2 night stay! Hotel staff were kind and friendly but our room smelled like cigarettes the entire time. It was a none smoking room. I’m currently pregnant and have a 1 year old so it was a no go. Only stayed one night and returned home a day early. My little one did have fun at the pool though.
Our room wasn’t exactly great. The room was warm, and we waited for someone to come and fix it, which didn’t take long. However, there was a smell there that lasted for a minute afterward. The front desk staff and custodial staff were amazing, though. The bar and restaurant were good too. I was able to rent a bike and travel a little of places here, so the location is pretty good.
The staff was very caring and anything we requested was brought timely. The suite was large and clean. The pool was nice. The proximity to the airport and Marine Recruit Depot was excellent. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. I would stay there again.
Good for the price. We stayed in what appeared to be one of the older buildings on the property and it was a bit dated and somewhat musty smelling. Not overpowering by any means and probably to be expected so near the bay. But service was good and location was perfect. Centrally located for everything we wanted to do.
Not a nice place to stay.
From the very beginning it was terrible.
We arrived at 2 pm. and asked if we could check in. The employee at the reception desk said she would call and check. They told us it wasn’t ready but that it would be ready in (1) hour and that they would call me directly to let me know. About 1.5 hours later they hadn’t called so I politely went up and asked if the room was ready. Different employee this time (Nikki was her name) she called and they said no, not ready. It’ll be another hour. That’s when I went and sat by my wife and checked the check in time. It’s 4 pm check in so we were early. But don’t tell me we can get in early if we can’t. Just seems like communication was bad.
I waited until 4:10 and went back up and asked for my room, I was ready to ask for my money back if it wasn’t ready. She then hands me the keys to my room and says “enjoy your stay!” She had my room ready for me and never told me. So, we get into the room and there’s a faint smell of pee. Ugh!!! It was just one night, we turned on the bathroom fan and left it on the entire time and just made the best of it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Just seems like it’s old and not cared for very well.
Also, seems to me that there’s something wrong with the management here. I watched more than a dozen people check in to their rooms while we waited and waited for our room to be ready.
