Reserved two queen beds. Which implies more than one person. Yet housekeeping and front desk staff only gave replacement towels in multiples of 3. Absolutely ridiculous!
Room was comfortable but needs a good clean. Carpet was filthy. Bathroom features completely falling apart including soap holders and toilet tissue holder complete broken.
Front desk staff is a joke. One night after returning late my room key did not work. Went to desk for a replacement still did not work. Get another replacement still does not work. 30 minutes later still not in the room and the front desk woman was clueless. Finally maintenance fixed the issue. There were two other guests experiencing the same issue at the same time.
Breakfast is a joke. I specifically stay at Holiday inn Express for the delicious cinnamon rolls. With the exception of the first morning on a 4 night stay there were none.
Location is great which was the only significant positive. And the room while crunchy, was comfortable.
For over 150 per night they have a lot of improvements to make.
For the price and location this was a solid stay and I can see myself coming back to it. There was a couple bugs in the room and on the property and the location isn’t in the safest location but I had no personal issues with any of that. Bathroom and showers were clean, beds were nice, no glaring issues at all with my stay
After spending 5 days the hotel is good overall. Rooms are big.
Regarding cleaning service its not that much good they don’t vacuum the room, and they don’t clean the bathroom much.
Be aware that there is party centre located next to the hotel so at the weekend it was so noisy they played music the whole night.
Free parking.
Good breakfast.
They have a laundry room as well.
I stayed here for 1 week while I was working at CHOC. Breakfast was good, and the room was clean. The bed was perfect. However, I will never stay here again, and my colleagues were turned off by some things at the hotel. Most staff were nice, but most of the young ladies at the front desk seemed like they were just there to put in their time and no more. They were just not enthusiastic about assisting anyone – just chatting away. I told them that someone had dumped a very large number of cigarette butts in front of the hotel (literally like a bucket full), and they just didn’t care, although the other guests found it disgusting. I told them that I had just 3 hangers in my room and will like 3 more, and the hangers never came. I could tell from the lazy responses that I will not be getting any. At checkout, I asked them to email my invoice and the young lady said ok, but my invoice never came. I travel a lot, but have never seem useless employees like this before.
Tastefully updated classic hotel with super friendly staff members and a beautiful pool. Please clean up your smoking area. Thanks for having one! Go to Costa Mesa HEI express to see one of the best smoking accommodations I’ve seen—CLEAN, with proper trash and butt urns. Thanks for not being delusional like HE Torrance gateway where there is no accommodation at all.
