I was very satisfied with the front desk staff, the maintenance gentleman and the housekeeping crew. All were wonderful. Room was clean and comfy. Location was great for the price.
I removed two stars from an almost perfect stay, however, because of a couple issues.
Our room card was deactivated no less than four times during our 3 day stay. It seems it would deactivate in the afternoons. We almost always had our 3 kids in wet swimsuits freezing in the hallway while we had to run downstairs to get it reactivated. It was a huge inconvenience and no real reason why it kept happening. At one point we couldn’t get back inside from the pool area and had to circle the building to the front.
Second issue – I always book where breakfast is included. Between Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn, I went with IHG. We were looking forward to having a fair selection of foods. First morning of breakfast, I was only able to get a couple cheese omelets and some biscuits. My kids had a wrapped muffin. We figured the food was maybe running out and we’d try again the following morning. The next morning the selection was even more scarce. No muffins, bagels did not have cream cheese available, no cereal or fruit for the kids. There were a few sausage links and a couple omelets. This really bummed me out because this is an important factor when I book our stays.
Overall the stay served its purpose. Not sure if I will be booking an IHG hotel again though.
First off, the good…Jim at the front desk was wonderful. He had a great attitude and demeanor. Check-in was a breeze, and he even helped me with a route to avoid the traffic going on due to the construction on the main road. The bad… the door to my room looked as if someone had kicked it in and was splintered where the lock and the door meet. It locked properly, but the door should not look like that for what I paid. Now the UGLY. My family and I went down for breakfast this morning and the pancake machine was out of service, no cinnamon rolls, no oatmeal, no apple juice and a lady reported the milk in the refrigerator was spoiled and chunky. AGAIN, for what i pay to stay there this should not happen. A big reason I choose Holiday Inn Express is for the breakfast for my family and I before we get back on the road and we could only get the cereal, eggs and sausage links. I really hope these issues are taken care of so the next guests do not have my same experience.
The only good thing about this place is location to the beach. There is an abundance of road construction going on which makes it a minor inconvenience. Nonetheless I would not recommend staying here, you will book it at one price and get charged a whole different price. I have yet to get an explanation of why I was charged extra and cannot get a refund as their front desk person couldn’t answer any questions and was highly unprofessional and rude. They charged my card an incorrect amount causing that card to become blocked. The hotel wasn’t the cleanest and k wish I read more reviews before booking my stay. Was not worth it and made for a stressful vacation being overcharged. Not up to ihg standards.
We had a great stay here! We stayed four nights and loved it. It’s conveniently located, clean, and reasonably priced. The beds were super comfy, and the staff was friendly. We only had one issue where the DirecTV channels weren’t working, but we called the front desk and they came and fixed it within five minutes. We would stay here again!
Great experience with this Holiday Inn location! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Its a good choice if you want to be close to the beach without the waterfront prices!
