Itās location is all this place has going for it. Rude front desk (just going through the check in questions), and absolutely non transparent billing. Cut my visit short and the bill was almost as much as the quote for the full stay. Called Diamond customer service who promised someone from the property would call to explain. Of course that didnāt happen. Iāve been a Diamond member for years, but this is my last time at a Hilton brand. If you must reply to this review, please include instructions in how to delete my Honors account.
Booked a room last minute with front desk agent, Mary. She was extremely helpful, polite, friendly, thorough, and patient. She offered me all options available, waited while I called and discussed with my husband who was waiting in the car, and went over every and all details of the hotel, room, and charges. She was truly our lifesaver tonight!
After checking out, my bank account got charged an extra $25. I have called and spoken to staff two days in a row now with no success of a refund. Each person I have spoken to over the phone are repeating themselves and asking the same questions about my reservation details and charges, stating what is on my receipt that I am looking at while on the phone. Yes, my receipt says X amount but my bank account has two separate posted charges, one of the amount on my receipt and a second extra charge for $25. The first person I spoke to over the phone transferred me to Accounting who I left a voicemail for but have not heard back from her. The second person just hung up on me. Now I am disappointed and dissatisfied. Mary gets 5 stars for service but the remaining gets 0.
After one whole day of complaining to the front staff that there were only a few channels on the TV and then sending up some kid who was covered in marijuana smoke, as he explained that he knew more than they did at the front desk that they were switching out the TVs to new smart TVs and that was why there was no cable. But why oh why would you ever sell out a room to a customer with out having the proper Services, especially a Hilton thatās $300 a night. Plus one elevator was completely out the whole time and the other elevator kept randomly going in and out so you never knew if you were going to get stuck in it. A couple times we had to take the stairs. I canāt believe a Hilton right there in the heart of Old Town San Diego would be so horrible to its customers and then offer nothing in return, no discount, no partial refund, no breakfast vouchers. NOTHING! On the second day they wanted to stick random pieces of paper on peopleās doors saying sorry for the inconvenience weāre upgrading. So hereās the challenge letās see if somebody from Hilton will contact me back!!!! I double dog dare you
Great location but very dated rooms. Extremely uncomfortable beds where I can feel the springs in the mattress. The water has been off and on which has made showering challenging. The pool is small and the food is mediocre at best. I wish I had picked a different hotel and if my booking wasnāt non refundable Iād be leaving sooner rather than when my reservation ends.

Honestly I am disappointed. We stayed here for a special occasion and went to visit Sea World. For the price you would imagine the staff would be on top of cleaning the room. Replacing coffee. This did not occur.
Even worse, the refrigerators leaked, the shampoo was empty upon arrival (and never corrected) and room was dirty.
Worse of all, when we advised staff of the issue, we were notified the manager was not working over the weekend, no one is in place to make decisions or help us in there stead and he is unavailable by phone.
For the money, you expect a clean, stocked room nightly when requested. This āresortā failed to meet these expectations.
If these things matter for you, I would find somewhere else.
