  1. Appears they are trying to be a higher end hotel the lobby is much nicer than the rooms ;they have to clean up the rooms and do some more remodeling. We had no shower curtain, there was mold in the tub, around the toilet base looked like a rusted dirty mess, beds were not comfortable to me, a tiny bit of soap in the dispenser, Not to mention there is no free breakfast which our kids enjoy. We stayed next door at Hampton last time and it was so much better than Garden inn and they are owned by the same company.

  2. Several things I did not like about this place. No complimentary breakfast. Both breakfast and dinner you have to pay for and the prices are stupid. Two fries and a mash potato was $17. I didn’t even bother with breakfast.
Next, someone else was given access to my room. I was downstairs and my teen daughters and toddler were upstairs when two people used their card to open my room door and it worked. Most treated this like it was no biggie my bad
Seriously! I am not okay with strangers being able to open my hotel door. What’s to say it won’t happen again in the middle of the night?
Lastly, the fridge was hot and I couldn’t put anything in it. I had to use a cooler.
The people are nice and that helps but I won’t stay there again.

  3. Hilton Garden Inn – Montgomery East

I will preface that I’ve stayed in plenty of the mid tier Hilton brands over the past 5 years and this location sticks out as a favorite for my Montgomery travels. I gave this location a chance as I wanted a break from downtown and it’s rising parking cost without also being subjected to the mix of shoppers at East Chase. The physical location here lends itself to being a key reason I picked it. It’s a business park that is quiet, and set back from the interstate. I had access to four different rooms from the 2nd floor facing the interstate. I could not hear nor see the interstate from them. It’s not going to be an issue staying here.

I did have a slight hiccup with my room, BUT these things happen and it was likely unreported by a prior guest. I came downstairs ten minutes after checking in and Melvin reassured me it would be handled while also moving my room down the hall. I received service with a smile and any time I came into or left out the hotel Angela, Melvin, or Koronda all spoke and offered up suggestions on the surrounding area.

When I realized I had family plans mixed up and needed to add nights to my stay, Angela took care of making those additional bookings, and even had extra towels and toiletries delivered to the room before I myself could make it back up stairs. The service and hospitality at this location is a well oiled machine that isn’t often seen at properties twice the cost or three times the notoriety.

Many reviewers of the property seem to overlook that breakfast and dinner has a charge but to my knowledge of over 50 stays in the Hilton program, the Hilton garden inn portfolio has never provided complimentary breakfast outside of status with Hilton Honors. If that’s what you want you may be better suited for the Homewood or Home2 in the area (everyone loves a deal or included things – not knocking it. I get it). Otherwise, You must select it as a benefit in lieu of 750 points if you’re gold or above, or pay the cost. To me the breakfast was plentiful, filling, and worth it. You’re waited on, the staff are hospitable, and the food comes out fresh every day we had breakfast on site. The chef was the good southern hospitality type and he made our mornings with delivering fresh coffee to our table in his downtime while the family came up with plans during the day.

Overall, I will be back here. Proximity to everything (downtown and shopping in east chase) without being in the middle of everything is huge for me. The hospitality and service I received also helped. Thanks to everyone that made this visit review worthy. Yall are doing everything right for the brand. I appreciate it. Their GM should be very proud. The holiday weekend was lovely.

  4. The overall experience was acceptable, but there were a few areas that could have been improved. The hotel didn’t offer any extra pillows or shower caps, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the breakfast options were quite limited, leaving much to be desired. Beyond these points, there wasn’t anything particularly remarkable that stood out during the stay.

  5. Staff, though nice, seem like something is going on, food tasted old and stale at the snack bar, restaurant was weird tasting dinner, the NY strip wasn’t a NY strip and tea didn’t taste like tea, salad dressing was something they made up so disgusting. I wish I had the power to have them investigated by upper management because something just feel way off there. The worst was that the toilet wouldn’t turn off cause someone put in the cheapest plastic setup I have ever seen.
