  1. Location was great, service was great, rooms were clean regularly. For the price I highly recommend it! Just inspect the room before you actually get settled. I noticed a light switch by the sink & a towel rack in shower area damaged. I took pictures & informed the reception. So I wouldn’t get charged for the damage. Other than that, it was great even though we were there 1/4 of the time.

  2. Check in was friendly. All we wanted was a hot shower and a good nights rest. We checked in and the room smelled like dog. I do not like walking around on hotel carpet so I kept my flip flops on. Hot shower yes. The when we crawled into the bed we turned into a taco and sunk in the middle not to mention the scratchy sheets and fire hazard of a top blanket. It was awful. We called to see if we could change rooms but they said they were a full house. The location is right on the freeway on ramp and super loud especially if you are on the back side of the hotel.
We were thinking about using the hot tub in the morning to loosen the cramps from the bed but the wafting smell of chlorine seeped all the way up to our room on the 3rd floor. Won’t be burning off my skin with chemicals today. We will not be coming back here and do not recommend.

  3. Kids drinking out of glass liquor bottles at the pool (crown royal to be exact), keys constantly stopped working, no blanket on the beds, only sheets, and when we discovered ROACHES CRAWLING ON MY MOTHERS CLOTHES IN THE DRAWER, management didn’t care, they offered $20 off per night or said $40 off and we can check out. So, after finding other accommodations on a couple hours of notice and packing everything up, I went to check out, they said they would move us to another room. That wasn’t satisfactory at that point, the clerk, Twin, got on her phone and started texting instead of checking me out. I asked if we could move the process of check out along then handed her a plastic cup with a roach in it. She finally got on the radio asked for someone to check our room. I asked why, she said “we have to make sure you didn’t have pets or smoke in the room”. I said, “You didn’t believe me about roaches, and you are going to charge me if I smoked in the room?” Twin responded, “Yes.” After my eye stopped twitching from the rage, I said, “sounds like you and your manager don’t care about roaches in your rooms or the review I am going to leave.” She finally handed me my receipt, with a $40 credit on it and credit for the room night we didn’t use. I turned around to see another guest waiting to speak to her who was absolutely mortified about what she had just witnessed. We left and will never return to the Heritage Inn in San Diego. $269/night is OUTRAGEOUS to begin with, but the location was perfect for our trip so the price was ok, if the accommodations would have been clean and sanitary.

  4. We had a good enough time. The advertisement, as well as their own website says they have Continental breakfast included. They don’t. The rooms are bare bones, but enough to get by.

We watched Sea World’s Fourth of July fireworks from the third floor balcony, so that was fun and safe. The spa water is lukewarm only. They have no way to make it warmer, and the pool is murky so I didn’t even get in, but who goes to San Diego to swim at the hotel? Still, it would have been nice to take a dip after running around on a hot day. Ahh. That’s why it’s murky–sweat.

They tore out the banana tree since our last visit. That made us sad. It was a good price, though, so we chose it.

  5. After reading the reviews I was concerned about what I would find after booking.. I actually thought it was another hotel.. So this was my first time here and I just didn’t know what to expect
However I was impressed.. I asked for downstairs and got it. I didn’t see one bug, ant, or mosquito.. Car didn’t get broken into.. Didn’t see any homeless hanging out.. The room didn’t smell.. Sheets and towels were nice and bright.. Everyone was nice, check in was super fast.. I received my deposit back fast.. The furniture is a little outdated but the shower was fancy, modern and CLEAN.. I mean literally what more can you ask for.. I will come back!!!
