Hallasan – Real Estate in California

Hallasan, located on Jeju Island in South Korea, is a prominent stratovolcano and the highest mountain in South Korea, reaching 1,950 meters above sea level. The imposing peak is part of the UNESCO Global Geopark, hosting a rich ecosystem with over 1,000 types of plants and several endangered bird species. Hallasan’s crater lake, Hallasan, is fed by natural springs and is a popular hiking destination. The surrounding volcanic terrain features deep valleys, wild fern forests, and geothermal hot springs. Regular volcanic activity and the mountain’s serene beauty make it a significant natural and cultural landmark. Park authorities manage the area to preserve its natural environment, biodiversity, and cultural heritage, ensuring it remains accessible for education, outdoor activities, and scientific study.

  1. I lived in Hallasan for a year, and unfortunately moving out due to moving out of LA. My experience here has been amazing. Not only does the complex sell itself with the immaculate amenities (360 view of LA from the rooftop, high end gym equipment, and luxury lounges), the staff here has gone above and beyond to make my experience here seamless and easy. Caleb initially gave me a tour when I first moved in last year, and he was incredibly professional, personable, and knew the ins and out of the property. In addition, JP always went above and beyond whenever I had concerns or questions with the property. You could tell that they cared about their residents, and wanted the best experience for everyone who lived on the property. Diane, the manager, was also incredibly helpful and professional with any questions or concerns I had as well. She was very quick to respond, and always followed up with requests or questions I had. Thank you Hallasan team for a great year in LA! I highly recommend this complex.

  2. Two month UPDATE: Wanted to give an update since my last review. Wanted to shout out the maintenance crew, specifically Luis. He has made living here more pleasant and things do get fixed quickly. The concierge staff Kevin and Tatiana have been wonderful as well. We finally had a resident Barbie themed party that was fun so hopefully they have more community events. One in a whole year is pathetic. They also opened up a few more community EV chargers so 3 total now with plans to add a few more!

I have been living in this building for seven months and, while the location in the heart of Koreatown and the amenities such as the fixtures, gym, and 360 rooftop view initially seemed impressive, it has turned out to be nothing more than a mirage.

The parking situation is atrocious. They only have three guest spots, which is utterly insufficient. Studios get no parking at all, and one-bedroom units are limited to a single parking space. This has been a significant inconvenience for both myself and my visitors.

Electric vehicle owners beware: there is only one community electric charger available, and the reserved EV chargers have been gone for a while, making it extremely difficult to charge your vehicle.

The pool is always closed for maintenance, rendering it useless. Additionally, the community guidelines are excessively strict, allowing only two guests per unit in any communal area like the pool or gym. This has made it difficult to have friends over and enjoy the amenities.

The leasing staff has been quite rude and failed to inform me of these restrictive policies until the day I moved in. Their lack of transparency is unacceptable.

Furthermore, as the first resident in my unit, I was appalled to find the air filters so clogged that it contributed to my breathing issues. The ongoing construction next door and the resulting air pollution have only exacerbated these problems.

To top it off, the building appears to have been quickly and poorly constructed. In the first few months of living here, the AC condensers failed and flooded all the elevators, causing them to be out of service for a significant period. There are also cracked ceilings in the second-floor underground parking, which allow water to drip during rain, adding to the building’s numerous maintenance issues.

Overall, despite its appealing features, this building’s numerous flaws and the poor management have made my living experience far from satisfactory. I do not recommend this building to anyone considering it as a potential home.

  3. Everything is beautiful. Our apartment is beautiful and the amenities are great. Only thing is, we have a curfew in the entire sky lounge. I sometimes work late and would love to sit on the roof after a long day but we cannot as it closes by 10 pm. So that’s kind of sucks after spending so much to be here. Aside from that, I love everything else!

Also, Elisia in Leasing was amazing. Touring with her was so comfortable and she really made our move in process as smooth as possible. We all seriously appreciate her!

  4. Hallasan offers an outstanding location with excellent amenities and stunning views. Staff are friendly and quick to respond to weekday issues. I fully support the management’s decision to close the rooftop after 9-10 PM, as it protects upper-floor residents from noise disturbances. It would be incredibly unfair for them to suffer from noise all night long, when they are paying the highest rent in this building.

While no apartment is without its challenges, most stem from inconsiderate and uncivilized neighbors, not the building itself. On most occasions when we had an issue, the staff was very quick to respond and showed commitment to resolve the issue ASAP.

  5. We love living here so far! Our leasing agent was Elisia and she was super responsive and helpful. The apartment views are incredible, amenities are wonderful, and the staff at the front is always nice. Our only complaint would be that the roof closes at 10pm. It would be nice to be able to enjoy the space for a bit longer. Otherwise we’re very happy with our decision to live at Hallasan.
