  1. My wife and I decided to retire and move from Colorado to Baldwin County Alabama. We worked mainly with Bill Funk but also his son, Scott too. We used them to purchase a home long distance and close on it remotely. Bill and Scott went way above their call of duty to help us in this purchase. I would highly recommend Gulf Winds Realty for any real estate purchases you may be wanting to make. They are professional and have excellent communication with their customers and follow through with what they say they will do. They give very good advice when asked. I cannot say enough good things about them. If we could rate them 10 stars we would because they earned that. WE have become very close friends with Bill and Scott since we moved. God Bless them.

  2. It has taken me some time to get around to writing this review, my experience with Scott and Bill Funk is something I would rather forget. I am writing this to hopefully spare someone else from going through what we went through. My husband and I hired Scott Funk to help us with selling our home in Alabama, my husband accepted a job out of state so we needed to sell our home quickly. This was our first experience selling a home and hopefully our last. We wanted someone who would guide us through the process and answer any questions we had in a professional manner along the way. When I met Scott and his father Bill they seemed very friendly and willing to help so we signed a 6 moth contract with Scott so he would list our house. Before signing the contract I asked Scott if it was binding in any way or if god forbid something wasn’t working out between us would we be held to it? He assured me that things would be fine but if at anytime we were not happy with the way things were going we could go our separate ways. We originally wanted to list our home in the 150’s but we were advised by Scott that we shouldn’t list that high so it was listed in the 140’s. We immediately received multiple offers and that’s where our problems began (it should have been a time of excitement). When we contacted Scott with questions regrading what to counter and what things we should or shouldn’t accept in the offers we received, instead of him advising us in a professional manner he had an attitude more like we better not mess this up for him. We felt more like he was working for the buyers and himself rather than us. He would react to my questions with yelling and aggressiveness. He would sometimes hang up during phone conversations or not answer the phone at all leaving me to have to contact the title company or the inspectors etc… to find out what was going on with contracts we were under. There ended up being 3 different contracts. We weren’t even called by Gulf Winds regarding the second contract when they found out it would not be closing, after a lengthy process were we were assured it would. I had to find out by calling the loan officer who was referred to the buyer by Scott. I understand things can happen that can prevent a home from closing and that it is not the fault of the realtor, however the realtor should communicate with you in a timely manner if the house isn’t going to close. Half way into the second contract we ended up being handed off to Scotts secretary Melonie who was very helpful and polite and truly did the best she could to help us, because he refused communicate with us anymore. After no longer feeling like we could trust Scott to do the job we needed him to because of multiple incidents one of which involved our security system being unplugged during one of his showings, I sent Gulf Winds a request for release of contract. We were denied our request and were told we would then be working with Bill who ended up treating us just as poorly as his son. At the end of our rope we contacted an attorney to see if he could help us out of the contract that Gulf Winds refused to release us from. The attorney advised us that court would only prolong us trying to sell our home and even though we were in a bad situation we should continue to let Gulf Winds list our home. Feeling like our home was being held hostage the attorney offered to help us by requiring all communication from Gulf Winds to us be forwarded to him as well, he really helped take away a bunch of stress and helped us in the professional way that Gulf Winds should have. My husband requested an increase in the listing price to what he originally wanted and we ended up selling our home shortly thereafter thanks to the help of our attorney and Melonie. Other than our dealings with Melonie I cannot nor will I recommend that anyone hire Gulf Winds reality to sell their home. Also check their reviews on Facebook and not the ones from friends.

  3. Thanks Gulf Winds Realty. We really appreciate all the help provided by the whole team. They go way out, to make sure that everyone is happy! My partner and I are very satisfied with their keen attention to matters concerning our rental property and lots for sale.
