My wife and I had a delightful dining experience at Gulf Island Grill. I enjoyed the Gulf Island Catch, while my wife had the Grouper Parmesan. Both dishes were incredibly tasty and well-prepared. We were pleasantly surprised that we didnât have to wait to be seated on a Saturday early evening. The food was served promptly, and the restaurant offers the convenience of free parking. Highly recommend!
We went for early lunch on Friday and we seated right away. Atmosphere is cool. I ordered the Parmesan Grouper with local potatoes and steamed veggies. It was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. I would recommend and order it again. Our meal was about $64 but both entrees were $22 and there were 2 alcohol beverages on tab. Price was reasonable and expected. Server was polite and attentive. I added the back page of menu as it wasnât available in other reviews.
Food was average at best. Nice island atmosphere. Donât get the water! I read on other reviews that it wasnât good and that was a true review. Taste like it came out of a hose. We ordered the broiled shrimp and mahi tacos. Wife loved the tacos the shrimp was good but I didnât realize I had to descale the shrimp, but it tasted just fine.
Wow we shouldâve read the reviews before going. We got there 10 minutes before they opened and as soon as they opened they made us aware that they were under staffed. We were seated and I asked if I could have a strawberry colada daiquiri. Our waitress said she didnât know if they could do that but she went to the bar and came back 5 minutes later and said they can do it (which i knew because all you have to do is put half strawberry and half pina colada). Then she brought us two waters. My fiancĂ© took one sip and literally SPIT IT OUT. He said the water tasted like they walked across the street, scooped it out of the ocean, and placed it on our table. I personally thought it just tasted like sink water but he couldnât stand it. Then we got the bacon cheese fries for an appetizer. My fiancĂ© enjoyed it although I thought the cheese just tasted artificial. I ate around the cheese. Then our drinks came. My drink had a super bad after taste. It wasnât smooth like a daiquiri should be, it was more like a smoothie⊠then our food came out and this was our last straw. if you view image one that was how we LEFT. We maybe took a few bites of our sandwiches. My fiancĂ©s chicken sandwich was so overcooked he couldnât bite into it. He said the quality was horrible and didnât taste seasoned at all. He said I make better chicken at home that I get from walmart. My burger did not taste like a burger should taste. It was so off. It didnât taste seasoned and didnât taste charred which was concerning considering I asked for the burger to be cooked well done. Now the worst part was the bill. Not only did we legit leave two full plates there. We paid in total EIGHTY DOLLARS for this meal of ours. $80. view the pictures, take in the comments and see for yourself why this place gets a one star. If we could put 0 stars we would. we will never go back!
We had a great lunch! Sue was such a kind server, and had great insight on the menu with the items we were debating between. Such a fun vibe in the restaurant, and we were checked on multiple times throughout the meal. Highly recommend the bacon cheese fries! The ranch is also delicious. We will be back!
